Would you spend $1K on high quality CZ studs?

The Amora website is a hot mess. They vaguely claim that they've recreated "star-like conditions" in a lab. (The stones aren't CZs). The metal used is often listed as "14/18k"--what does that mean? And the listings talk about--kid you not--the item's "packiging". They might as well put a little red flag on the home page!!

Wow, interesting! I made the right choice by staying away.

I lost a diamond stud last year and terrified about wearing studs again. Even though I have nothing against CZs it is a lot of money to spend on a CZ. They are almost 2 carat total weight and the brand is Amora which is supposed to mimic H&A diamonds. Or, should I just buy a cheapie pair of CZs?

Pros and cons regarding Amrora CZs and other brands are welcomed.

QVC sells CZ studs for under $100 I would not pay $1000 for them.

I may be the minority here.
Wink made me a pair of Amora Earrings in 14kt gold setting a year ago. They are 2 ct in each ear TCW is 4Ct. I need big stones in my ears because I have long thick hair and small ones you barely see them in my ear.
Anyway, these earrings that Wink made for me are show stopping down right gorgeous. I get compliments all the time on them. They really look like diamonds and no one can tell they are not. Mine are high end and made in white gold setting. They look magnificent and I have no regrets spending the money since I could not afford 2ct diamonds in each ear totaling 4 ct diamond earrings.

Maybe I should not ask since I did move one but is it possible for you to share a pic?

Amora is one of the newer, whiter cuts of moissanite. It's misleading for them to say it's not moissanite because technically it is silicon carbide - the same material as moissanite. It doesn't have that greenish tint that older moissanite did, even the Forever Brilliant. There are a ton out there - Forever one and Harro come to mind. In any case I think it's all overpriced for what it is. The good news is that it's hard and resists scratching unlike CZ which can get scuffed up over time and will likely need to be replaced.

No - find normally priced CZ studs cut in way that they are very sparkly and bright. Replace them if they darken. As for diamond studs - I don't buy much American jewelry, except for funky stuff on Etsy. But do American diamond studs come with screw on backings? That really helps prevent loss of studs while wearing them.

I agree, it's beautiful, but it's man made and can be bought everywhere now so I don't understand why it is so expensive.
