Oh its what's left over after you tighten it? I guess you could try to tie it in a knot but I feel like the knot would be too big. I'd have no problem cutting it to the length you want. No, unless you take the whole drawstring out.

Nice bag. What I would try to do is tuck that tassel up inside the bag instead of cutting. The bag is soft and slouchy. Here are a couple of pics...it’s noticeably heavy for a tassel as well.View attachment 4613474View attachment 4613475
That’s kind of where it sits naturally, the drawstring isn’t really tightened. I’ll have to see if there’s some way to maybe raise it up from the inside as there’s some slack at the top.Oh its what's left over after you tighten it? I tried that but you have to go over the top edge to put it inside (can’t slide it through anywhere) so it looks bulky. It also takes up a chunk of space once insideNice bag. Good luck.
Thanks, I’m going to play with it a bit more before making a decision to modify.I would have no problem modifying. I’m always doing things like that. Sometimes I regret it, sometimes not. With Chanel you want to be sure tho. If it meant I would get more enjoyment out of it, I would do it.

I alter my bags in reversible ways. So, if the tassle bothered me and there was a D ring holding it on, I'd take some pliers and just remove it. I could replace it with a different one from Coach/Amazon. That way, if I want to sell it in the future, I can put the original back on.I have a Chanel (older bag) with a very long tassel (which is connected to the drawstring at the top of the bag so it isn't removable). It's annoyingly long in fact, and I'd like to shorten it. Would you modify a bag knowing that it would dramatically decrease the bag's value, so you could be happier wearing it?
So do I, very much...That's a great bag. I'd leave it - but then I like it
see how much of the drawstring you can pull back inside of the bag.
That’s what I was considering, thanks! It's a lovely bag. What about leaving the tassel the way it is and just cutting a couple of inches off the bottom? It would still look good but not be as heavy.
The unfortunate thing is that it’s not removable in any way, but built into the drawstring. Plus I like the tassel, just not so much if it!
