So I put back in refurbished original for time being! They were able to get it secure enough to give me a little more time to think. I have a feeling I will just rebuild this one.

I did! It's from Burma and was my Grandmother's. Sadly I don't know the whole history of whether she inherited it or whether my grandfather gave it to her. The style of the original setting was Art Deco and my grandparents were married in 1944 so it's a little borderline whether that style was still en vogue enough to be bought new or whether it was my great grandmother's who was in her 30's during the 1920's.

I like it the way it is. The color is stunning (10x better than your first photo) and I would love to own a Sapphire in emerald cut one day!

So I got the final appraisal back and there are 6 diamonds on each side. I guess I never actually looked that hard at it! There are also two baguettes on each side.
