Would you buy this birkin?
This bag arrived to me today and I was startled to see the bag was not authentic.
I called the person who was trying to sell it and asked them where they purchased the bag. The husband told me he bought it on ebay a few years ago and paid $7000! I do believe he really did not know.
I am just wondering how many women here would have bought this bag if the price was right?

If I know that a bag is fake, I won't take it even if it's free. But since you said that person didn't know, I could imagine he paid $7K for it. $7K is a good price if it's authentic. Hope he will give you full refund.

The fake bags are getting better and better........but they can never copy the exactly. There is always something like the leather would be next to impossible to copy exactly....

This is another reason why I love this forum-there are so many knowledgeable, helpful ladies (and men) on the 'authenticate this' board. That being said, I would not buy anything Hermes from ebay for $.07, $7.00, or $7,000 without consulting a second opinion from here!:smile1:

Yew! This photo is a tip-off! Thanks for giving us the heads up!
Have a friend who bought a fake bag from eBay. Paid thousands of dollars for it. When she received it, she asked me to check it out. Workmanship was really great! But like CDL said, there is always something that would be hard to copy.... my friend is currently suing the seller in court.

That is a lot of money to pay for a bag on ebay a few years ago.....what a shame.

Thanks for sharing.....I wonder what will become of it now......??????

I wouldn't take it if someone paid me to. ANY fake is despicable. That second photo, the close up, is clearly of a fake bag. But yes, the fakes keep getting better and better.

No fakes for me. So no, I would not be interested.

My concern is, would we have been able to tell from the first pic? Make the buying decision based on photos and not being able to "feel" the bag? It's scary the pics may be real (of the actual bag versus stolen from another authentic bag) and the same bag arrives being fake.

The first pic has something that alerted me and this was confirmed by the second pic. I would never buy a bag on the basis of one pic.
