I've only done this with clothing and shoes. With bags, I usually retire them because I've gotten tired of them, so I wouldn't want a backup.

yup! and i do it with jeans that fit amazing (so hard to find!) and shoes if i love them enough to want to wear them, like, every single day of my life!

It isn't dumb. If you like a specific model that much, having it in different colors is great .

I don't think so. I am currently on the lookout for a reasonably priced Yellow or Green leather Coach Parker Satchel for the spring because I love my black one so much. I also still look for leather Coach Maggie's in various colors, Coach Legacy Shoulder Bags, Black Coach Lily's and Cherry Red Treesje Marquis Satchel's despite the fact that I have those same bags already - in other colors. I know what I like and when I really like something - I often want more of the same!

Lots of people have multiple Givenchy Nightingales and PS1's also. . . to name a couple that straightaway come to mind.

If a bag works for you then why not buy it in multiple colours?
