Would you buy a LV damier neverfull or a Celine bi cabas tote?

If you don't the open top and don't live in a rainy city I'd go for NF. Celine is so long that you have dig deep for small things, plus the space on top is wasted unless you fill it all the way to the top. On the other hand, NF's east west design offers you more usable space, and you can shrink the tote by tightening the side straps.

I have realized that east west bags' weight, when full, feel ligher and more comfortable than north south ones.

I used to think that I prefer east/west totes to north/south but north/south appears to be my go-to for work. Hangs down nicely so doesn't get in the way during commute and I find that you can stuff it so much more than e/w. Great if you carry lots of papers and a full waterbottle.

I have a calfskin Alice.D tote that is very similar in design to the Celine cabas. I'm still in love with the soft leather and find that I never have to worry about overloading it. It does sag a lot (more and more over time) though and I think the Neverfull is actually more practical (the thinness of the straps is a little concerning but so many people have it so I think they're actually fine).
