Would anyone tell me, is it ok for a man to use Picotin?

it seems that anyone can use anything, when it has an appropriate function and is not merely a decorative accessory

No. If you have to ask you know the answer.

I think some people are just looking for reassurance.

The Pico has been on-trend as a dainty, little 'flower-pot' of a bag recently, very 'dolly', but it wasn't originally intended that way.

In the larger sizes, it suggests a much more utility look, like a duffle bag without the drawstring.

Right, suggest HERMES to remove the drawstring for gm. 😊

I'm male and have not thought about using the Picotin. I think it works, though there is something slightly feminine about its design, despite the larger ones being like an open tote.

For a smaller soft bag with an open top, I'd rather have an Evelyne III and keep my hands free.

For a tote, I'd rather have something with thicker leather and sturdier handles, sized at least for a 15 inch laptop. Probably a different aesthetic but I don't see the point of a tote style bag that is softer and more delicate.

Tastes vary. What I consider a beautifully made and very practice male leather tote would be the Frank Clegg Commuter Tote (***** uses a Frank Clegg briefcase, one of the best makers in the USA but different aesthetic).

There is nothing inherently feminine about a picotin unless you choose to carry it in the crook of your arm.
For some reason that is a particularly feminine way of carrying anything.
In any case, does it matter?
It's the appropriateness to what has to be carried that really matters. Like the Double Sens it's just a sack made of leather.

albeit beautifully crafted from high quality hide

There's just something about the cut of the top that strikes me as slightly feminine, but think that's just me.

Think I wouldn't prefer it because it would work only when you want to be carrying a leather sack and I thought that narrows what you would use it for, such as a jacket and no laptop. I'd try it, but think I wouldn't know what to do with it given what I carry around.
