Mine is two years old now. It's still in great condition, even though I haven't been easy on it. I've taken it on planes, to the beach, and the pool and I use it mostly for a work bag when I work outside of the home. I really, really love it!

I might be late but Michael Kors actually has a pretty good "Stain & Rain" protective spray for 10 bucks on their website and in store
