My husband has grown weary of my bag habit (and so has my wallet) since I have a TON of purses and have spent a lot to get there. I used to only buy designer bags, but I am realizing that I go through purses so quickly and what I really love is the thrill of the hunt -- so it behooves me to look for bargains. I think I'm going to focus my sights on looking for unique and high quality bags without killer price tags. That way my collection can grow but my wallet won't feel the sting as much. I also will get a nice challenge! I don't need a closet full of only LV to feel content!

My friends have given up trying to talk me out of buying more bags :) i love hunting for the bag you really want its such a high when you get it 90% of my collection i brought pre loved and the quality is still amazing, :) i dont feel guilty about the amount of bags i have because they were all such bargins

OP, this is a good question. I have been bag-obsessed since I was in my teens. With almost every bag, I eventually get bored and get rid of it, but my tastes have gotten increasingly expensive. I realize how silly this fixation is and am trying to stop, esp since a lot of my current bags don't get much use. Also, I have to do a better job of taking stock of what I have and only buying what I need instead of, whatever catches my eye. And, I need to find something else to obsess about :P

I have tried to move my fixation to something else but it never works! I have made an inventory of my bag closet :) so i know what styles i still need or what gaps i have im my collection hopefully this will help me make wiser buying decisions. :)

I had no idea RM would be so hard to sell! You can't get RM in my country and so I had to buy online, and the bag I got was a mistake in size. Another rule to buying bags: if you can't see it in person, don't bother buying it.

Where do you live? Im in the Uk and you cant get RM here either, i thought RM would have a good resale value due to it being quite rare! What bag did you get? I brought my Mac daddy online and was worried about size but i love it :smile1:

I'm in Australia and so I have bought all my RMs from Shopbop and Amazon because of their awesome shipping. I love my Swing and Mini Affair... but the Regular Affair size is off - it was more smaller irl than it looked online. I guess it is the way the bag is structured with the flap that makes it difficult to put my essentials in there and I really don't carry much! So being the culling queen I am I have decided it has to go lol

That is an excellent point -- I rarely buy my bags full price but instead prefer to hunt in consignment boutiques and find bargains wherever I can. It does make me feel better about my extensive collection because I didn't really break the bank (too badly) to get there. Plus, I think the high of finding my next new bag is really the thrill I'm after -- hey, it's better than drugs! :P

For now I am content. I still have handbags on my wish list, but I can wait. This year I've gotten a Celine Luggage Tote and a LV Speedy 30. Last year while visiting Italy and Paris I purchased A LOT of handbags. And I have 3 bags I bought and still haven't used...not good. My husbands biggest complaint is that they don't get used enough. With that said, I love the New Years Resolutions I read on PurseBlog in 2011. Two of my favorite resolutions from the list were: change my bags more often and only buy bags I will use. This is the year to change them often and use them all. I plan to to stop yearning for the ones I don't have and love the ones I do...often. :D

You said it sista.

For the first time, I might check out pre-loved boutiques for real bona Fidel treasures. Must send unwanted bags and shoes for consignment too!

I like this, its something i should try and live by "stop yearning for the ones I don't have and love the ones I do" ive already brought 4 bags this year 5 if i win the auction, i didnt realise i was this bad!! I still have bags on my list but same as you im in no hurry, im having a handbg cupboard made so my plan is when i can see all my bags ill be inspired to use them more :) ....i hope

Okay, so I know I am obsessive compulsive. I have been all of my life. Sometimes it is shoes, but most of the time it is purses. When I was a teenager and worked part-time, I bought tons of cheap fake purses. Then I got a full-time teaching job and hooked onto Dooney and Bourke. After a while, I moved up to Coach. I have recently gotten bored with Coach and am onto Michael Kors. To me purses are timeless. They fit whether I am five pounds over or five pounds under. I know everyone around me thinks I am crazy, but at least I am not off gambling or in bars blowing money that way. :shrugs::shrugs:

I think to each their own but for me, I can say I'm truly content w/ my LV collection! I can't wait to start enjoying them all year long. Never thought I'd be able to say that but YIKES! It's taken a while and I couldn't be more excited!!

I am very content with my collection but I still love to look and buy...it is a true obsession for me and this goes back to childhood. I have always had a 'thing' for bags. I certainly do not buy them now because I "need" them. They are not purchased at the expense of the important things in life. My children are fed, the bills get paid and we vacation. The bags are extra.
