Ive been thinking alot lately about what handbags i would like to add to my collection and i realised that realistically there are not that many left that i really need (...Read want) and i wonder when i have these 5 bags left on my wish list, will i be content? will the desire to have more bags stop and if i do buy any more bags will i just be buying for the sake of it??

So my question is have any of you ladies brought all of the bags on your wish list and what happened after? Did you just see more bags you liked/wanted?

I pretty much have my "Top 5" and there will be a short period where I say I'm satisfied. But it starts all over again where I'm looking at bags, even if I'm still happy with "Top 5".

As a matter of fact, I'm obsessing over a bag I already have, except I think I want it in a different color.

One thing for sure, it wastes huge amounts of mental reserves!:amuse:

No, I think once you've fallen i love with bags there's no getting out! I keep on adding to my collection and there's even bags in the same style I want just different sizes or colors f.x City/Work Falabella/Trio Woc/2.5/Jumbo etc! I just cant get enough!!!!!

Hmm, the newness of it has worn off for me. I still have a few on my list, but it doesn't feel urgent to get them anymore, if that makes sense. I still browse, but rarely see one that would be better than what I already own.

I think it depends on the person. For some, bags are their "thing" and they will never tire of finding something new, but for others, it is a temporary obsession.

I think i am finally at a point where i have what i need and love.. . I might replace a yellow bag that i have and love because the color has turned a bit.. But its nothing urgent.. when the right one finds me at the right price, i will get it.

I'm sure I'm obsessed...I ebb/flow a bit...but I love the hunt...the acquisition but then I move onto the next one...have been curbing my appetite a bit with less expensive bags to go easy on the ol' wallet...my bans last a while but not too, too long!

Great thread! Since I only own a few great bags which I rotate, I guess you can say I am somewhat content. Let's face it. I'm a woman, and I am always seeking that "perfect" bag. I have gotten cheap in my buying as far as spending. I never got satisfaction from spending thousands on a bag so perhaps with the elevated prices, I am finally "getting" content. :smile1:

I have been obsessed with bags since I was a little girl. I have a huge vintage croc collection.....which I never use as the bags are so heavy.... some expensive designers bags which I rarely use either because I am afraid of ruining them in the rain (it rains a lot in my place....) or with colour transfer....
And then... middle of the range bags....which I carry a lot.
Am I content with all those? Yes!
Am I still looking? I can't help it, unforunately.
But...I am getting wiser and wiser.
I look at the price first and there is a limit now.
To tell you the truth, if I could go back in time...I would only buy an LV Speedy and a few Longchamp Le Pliage....

I'm never conent for long. I get a new bag and a few months later, I'm looking to see if there is something else I want for a good price. I have become more careful about what I spend. Since there are few bags that I'm going to love forever, I try to buy at the right price so that if I do want to sell, I can try to recoup my money (or not lose too much).
If I see something that looks nice for cheap but it's not something I really love and not a popular brand for resale, I remind myself of all the bags I have at home in their dustbags.

Handbagahholic, great thread starter. Yes, I am like you, I never have enough, after I get my wants and I find I get more wants and it gets larger and larger. I also do not purge my collection either, I have a list of my bag collections just to keep up with the style and name, size etc. also just to admire the list. I have over 45 plus all high end designer bags, 23 just
LV's alone and it doesn't stop. Once I got on a LV phase, got what I wanted and switched now to other high end designers, finished with my gucci, prada, miu , Celine collection now onto chloe, givennchy and Hermes. It is a bag disease, not to mention the thousands of $ I blew. I have come to realize that it will never stop and I will never be content, it is like a high when I get it then subsides after a week and I am out looking for another one. I can't keep up as there are so many nice bags, designs coming out. I think I just gotta ban myself from going to look, whether a magazine, TPF, stores etc. if I don't know about it, I won't want it.

Ah this is what i was afraid of the no getting out...lol i think having the same bag in a range of colours is a great idea :) if theres a style that works for you.
