Will the 19 and the 22 go the way of the Boy bag and Gabrielle?

I still like the Boy and recently got a 19 (even though I wasn’t sold on it initially). I do hope these two styles stick around. Personally find the 19 more easy than the Boy although that could be because my Boy is small. I sometimes find the full flap of the Boy a hassle (restricts the opening of the bag). Personally don’t really care for the 22 but who knows - I was that way with the 19 previously and it grew on me!
I agree that the 19 is easier than the boy especially the closure. Not to mention the boy chain is loud lol but I love the sound!

I didn't find the 19 or 22 attractive at first, but I ended up reconsidering and now have a small black 19, small 21s light pink 19, and a small white 22. I admit that I enjoy the 19 so much more than I expected as it's so versatile, comfortable, and is a good style combination of classy and edgy. The 22 is great too for being so effortless whenever I dress down in sweatshirts/tees and super casual gear, but I definitely prefer the 19's look overall based on my personal style. I also have old medium boys and still love them without any thoughts of parting from them, but in the last few years I do reach for my 19's more than any bag I have (including CFs). I can imagine the 22 eventually phasing out, however the 19 may be lingering for a while as it's also iconic in its own way as Karl's last major design.

Try both in store if you can! Take your stuff with you and put it in the bags. Sometimes the sa will let you try with your stuff in the display bags.

I only have mediums(3). This size is perfect what I currently carry. You should check the 19 clubhouse thread out if you haven’t already!
Tried both, loved both :*) Would love to get both but working on budgeting for some big events this year so I should stick to just one lol

Agree with all of this (and sounds like we have similar taste in bags)! I didn't like either the 19 or 22 at first, but I now have a small black 19, a large (or whatever the next size up from the small is) caramel 19, a small caramel 22, and a mini red 22 (still might return this one). I love the 19s so much - they are so easy to wear. I also have a SO black old medium boy that I still love but just don't use it as much.

Ah, such gorgeous choices! The caramel 19s are such an absolute dream combo, aren't they?! I for sure was totally caught off guard with how much I really enjoy the 19. Even seeing it out and about on others puts a smile on my face!

I do love the 19 a lot too, it's just an easy bag to use and also big enough to fit everything I need without playing Tetris too much so it will stay with me for a long time. With how much cost per wear I get out of this bag, it'll probably be ruined before it goes out of style! Lol

I do think that the hype around both 19 and 22 will die down. The only bags that will truly stay forever are the classic flaps which are the 11.12 and 2.55 (both have the iconic design).

I do believe that 19 will be considered out of style soon as it has many trendy elements (enlarged quilts, pullowy puffiness, large oversized chain handle). I am also sure that 22 will lose its “IT” status soon. However, I have both 19 and 22 as well as boys and gabby and I do not plan to part with them. My favorite to use is actually 22 so even when it looses its “IT” factor I plan on waring mine.

The 19 seems super trendy, but I hear many love it for its ease of use and practicality. The 22 is also hot right now, but I think it’s mostly because of the price point. Do you think it will peak and slow substantially like the Boy or Gabrielle? Or are these here to stay?
Personally, the 19 been the last bag by KL, I think it will remain for a long time. The 19 is also super practical, worry-free, easy to wear handbag;) it’s a lot to say coming from someone that loves CFs and minis like myself . As per the 22, I heard now a lot of people saying the same good things as the 19. I don’t see as trendy, it’s a tote like many others that Chanel has done in the past. The 22 reminds me of my long time favorite Coco cabas that I used to loveeeee so much. The 22 will die down in popularity over time as Chanel comes out with another tote ?. As per the boy, I heard that most people do not like the bag anymore because of different issues, wear and tear, hair getting tangle in the strap, etc. but they still love the look of the boy bag.

I love the idea and usefulness of the C19. A soft, yet sturdy crossbody with a back pocket for phones and receipts!? Sign me up!!!!

Now, I think it could use a face lift to maybe keep it looking more “classic”.

The main thing I don’t like about it is the multi-color chains and *especially* the Chain-style, leather weaved thru CC in the front. It looks gaudy to me.

If it became a simpler-looking CC and 1 aged color chain throughout, I would die. ❤️

I think the chanel 22 won't be going anywhere since it's the first sort of classic range designed by Virginie viard. The gabby and 19 were designed by Karl and he's no longer around.. so they might get rid of it ? Just like how they got rid of the Karl lagerfield signature on the inside of the classic flap dust bags!
