Will eBay let me return when seller says no returns? Fake bag

Before filing SNAD, verify that it's fake by posting on the appropriate "authenticate this" thread here, on the ebay community fashion board or you can pay for a professional authentication. (I don't think a purchase/professional is necessary unless you're unable to confirm inauthenticity free.)

Once you've confirmed that it's fake, open a SNAD case. Generally, it's recommended that you try to work it out with the seller prior to opening a dispute but since the seller already told you that she'd want you to pay shipping in both directions, I recommend you go directly to the SNAD route.

With SNAD, the seller has to pay for return shipping if she wants it back and once received, you're to get a full refund (including your original shipping) so you're made whole.

If the seller doesn't respond to the dispute within the timeframe ebay requires, you can escalate it and ebay will resolve it. You'll win the dispute and get a refund, either after returning it with a prepaid shipping label paid for by the seller or without sending back the fake.

A request about a Mulberry bag was posted on Monday. The authenticator responded with a request for more pictures but no further response. not saying it is the same bag, but.......... :shrugs:

Bumping this thread as I purchased what turns out to be a fake. I emailed the seller to ask for a return because I believe the bag to be fake, and the seller said I would have to reimburse shipping to me and pay for return shipping. Should I just file a SNAD instead, or agree to go along with the seller’s suggestion?

@morejunkny

If that's the same bag/request, it's unfair of the buyer to file SNAD without confirming her suspicions. Also, keep in mind that authenticators volunteer their time and expertise to help you with your purchases and disputes. Please be respectful and respond to them when they're kind enough to want to help you.

Here's the request for authentication:
And the authenticator's request for more pictures:

ETA: I have no idea whether the bag is authentic or fake but just expressing my opinion as both a seller and an authenticator.

Thanks, not the Seaton quoted here but I had posted for authentication prior to asking my question here. My question here was focused on whether it is typical for the buyer to have to pay for the original shipping cost if it was an item with free shipping. Thanks to all for responding.

This is my understanding based on recent experience: If there is a good reason for returning an item from an eBay sale, the seller will be responsible for covering the costs of shipping the item back even if the shipping costs to the buyer are covered by the seller when they initially sent the item.
