Hi everyone,

I've been lurking around this thread for awhile admiring all your lovely Bal jackets and I was lucky enough to try one on today in a Bal store in my size! The only problem is that there are some scratches on the leather on both sleeves... not VERY noticeable, but knowing it's there and for the price, I feel that the jacket should be perfect. Has any of your girls run into this problem before? Or am I just too picky? The leather is super smooth (not distressed) so I feel that the scratches is more visible than it should be. FYI, this is the only left in the store... they do have a white/cream one in my size, but I know I would be too afraid to wear it. A couple more questions... I absolutely CAN NOT zip the jacket up, but that is ok, right? Also, is Petrol a current season color?

TIA! :flowers:

^^all the jackets I saw in the store last fall were distressed leather so "scratches" are just part of that look. they aren't defects. I actually liked it personally.

p.s. I could zip the jacket up but did not like the way it looked zipped up (on me anyway). If/when I purchase one, I'll probably always wear it unzipped or partially zipped.

meowmeow, my beige was purchased brand new and had scratches all over but I love it even more than my black that didn't have one scratch on it! I feel like scratches add character (but that's just my personal opinion, of course). I wouldn't worry about not being able to zip the jacket up. Again, my personal opinion, but I think it looks amazing when worn unzipped vs zipped.

ITA, i don't mind the scratches on my beige at all, like you, i think it adds character to the leather, after seeing some very smooth 2010 jackets, i really think the scratches are adding a vintage touch to the jacket.

I totally agree!!! My beige is so broken in with some scratches a little dirt...but I love it anyway!!! I'm going to take it to the cleaners soon. I'm scared though. It really does need to be cleaned.

Ditto!!!
