Why are pre loved Chanel mini rectangular in caviar so expensive?

I say that it doesn’t worth although caviar minis are gorgeous to me. First of all, buy preloved is always tricky: you are not 100% sure of the authenticity, you can’t check the bag personally and you lose all the shopping experience in a Chanel store that is one of the best part.
Moreover, at this price point go for a small classic flap, the bag is more structured and it’s double flap; if you need a crossbody bag, I tell you to go for the Business Affinity in small or medium, it’s caviar, you can crossbody and it has all the beautiful detail of a classic at a more reasonable price.
However, caviar is a more durable leather but lambskin is not that delicate and in small bag like the mini you can easily take care of it.

These are my thoughts exactly! Crossbody is a MAJOR thing for me and I can't stand the thought of altering the chain length of a small CF and then having trouble reselling it again one day - does anyone have any experiences selling CF with altered chain lengths? I also really want caviar because although lambskin is luxurious, it really can't beat the durability of caviar.
Unfortunately for me though, in the Australian 2nd hand market, I can't get the mini under $7500 AUD! (We have to pay 10% tax on imports so I'd prefer to buy in Australia). Besides, the price of a lambskin mini is currently $6200 AUD so, although I hope I'm wrong, I feel that by the time they make the minis again in caviar that the price will be around $7000 anyway! Haha
Still sitting on the fence about it but I really do want the mini in caviar, even though it means shelling out a bit more for quality preloved! Sigh, what can a girl do... haha

Of mini is almost u$4800 and i feel like its worth paying u$1000 more even if you really really love the bag and if you are going to use it alot

Just here to say that I just purchased a caviar mini 18b chevron for a whopping $6000 usd! My other 18b caviar quilted mini purchased in 2020 was $4300 and I thought that was expensive. I saw some selling caviar minis for $6500 and up. I just need 1 more in black and Im done. Perhaps I'll get it in black lambskin.

They haven't made minis in the classic colors in caviar in forever which is why the preloved market is insanity.

That’s not true - I purchased my Caviar mini in black with light gold hardware in may 2018. fresh from the store little did I know it would be the last time they do caviar minis

It’s the most versatile cute bag ever.

In comparison to the small it DOES not have the double flap which actually makes the mini hold more!

It’s lighter in weight, the chain allows for it to be carried in a lot of awesome varieties including a clutch and it looks cute even if you keep it on all night - small looks to me as if someone well is holding on to their handbag all evening. The mini somehow becomes one with the outfit, like an accessory
