. I have had the range of LV bags in the 30 years I’ve loved the brand. I’ve moved back to classic styles ( and I’m almost 60). I have 2 classic speedy 30s in mono and De. I wear them all the time. I like the light weight and how I feel when carrying one. I like dressing them up with luggage tags and adding a strap when I want to be hands free. I’m a grandma who loves her Louies! My granddaughter points them out on people when we are out shopping together[emoji41]
Why am I lusting a speedy 30 again??

The Speedy 30 is iconic, as iconic as any other bag from any other brand. No one calls an H Birkin a beginner's bag. Just be happy the Speedy is still relatively affordable.

I love the Speedy...especially the Speedy B. The bag never goes out of style and really it's just a great bag all around. Definitely get one...I had two and sold them (Speedy 35 and Speedy B 30). Now you've got me thinking about getting another one

You can never have too many speedys. I love my 35s, but a 30 is really nice for everyday, when you're not carrying the kitchen sink. Just so you know, all the limited edition pieces only come out in the 30. So there must be something magical about this size.

a beginners bag? I'm in my 4th year of carrying LV and don't have one. I just bought my first 35 to arrive tomorrow.

I love my Speedy 40, and definitely don't consider it a "beginner's" bag. Like others have pointed out, it's a classic and it's iconic. Although for me, the 30 would be too small, but I love that there are several different sizes to choose from with the Speedy. Keeps people coming back for more.
Why is a Speedy a beginner's bag? Because they aren't an exotic bag? Cheaper than other bags, which today a speedy is not cheap. Timeless & classic & practical. I think there is a bit of snobbery in some circles about speedys. I love my speedys, my favourite model of LV.
