Who has pawned jewelry before?

About 2 years ago, I had all of this 18k yellow gold , gorgeous peices that I never wore. I was into white gold at the time. I am kicking myself for selling them for scrap prices!
I got totally ripped off, a few months after that I had about 10 rings with YG and diamonds and I had the diamonds taken out and had it made into a bracelet from an artist locally. I wish I had never of scrapped the gold as I could of used it for the bracelet!
Can you use the diamonds or gold for another peice, this is for anyone that wants to rid themselves of old jewelry.
I still have some old rings and diamonds and stones loose around here. I want a slimmer version of the bangle the guy made me.
Maybe make a ring or something you would wear? It is very green, but I guess it is expensive ( the artist was a quack and really expensive).
Just an idea if the loss would hurt too much.

That's a really good idea.I am thinking about saving one of the stones or something but the diamonds are all really small because they are all emerald and sapphires and in cuts I don't really like. I have tried to figure out a way to make it work for me but it is just so far from what I like I don't know if it is worth the trouble.

I am going to try craigslist or ebay with some of the more valuable pieces and see if I can get a little more, and take the less valuable places to a few more gold for cash places.

My diamonds were all small, I had about 3 carats total. 2c , were scattered in the bracelet he made for me.
I like the bracelet, but he over charged me to make it, extra gold, charged for materials and to place each diamond. He does everything by hand and was a weirdo.
I should of known when he pulled out a human skull during our meeting. LOL . DH was like uhhh, but he was in the artsy part of our city and had many recs. I would do it over with someone else who uses Cad or a programm, this guy reads energy and your personality. LOL. It was an experience that is for sure!!!
I have sold stones, small diamonds and some other rings and I want to make a peice again. I still have my loose emeralds and rubies and an aquamarine. I could make them into a bezel set bracelet with the diamonds scattered, it would be cool. I hope you get a good price for your gold, if not could you melt it into a plain bangle?

I sold some jewelry to a jewelry store (presumably as scrap), and got next to nothing for it. I had 2 18kt gold Tiffany rings that they'd only give me the scrap price for, and this wasn't the first jewelry store I'd been to. It just confirmed what I already knew - jewelry is not an investment, even if it's branded and/or contains diamonds.

All I know about it is that it's like a "classifieds" for jewelry. Mostly people from a few diamond and jewelry forums, it's an offshoot of a site that sells simulants.

Yes it is another site that is ran by another site BUT they also have diamonds as well not just simulants...:smile1:

If I remember correctly they do not charge any fees.
