Who else cannot see the beauty of Damier Ebene?

Honestly I think DE is much more complex than monogram. If you look closely under good light you can see multiple colors in the pattern. Plus it goes with everything. I love the flowers in monogram but actually prefer the colors of DE and wish they made more bags in it. The alma bb in DE is one of the best looking bags ever made.

Yes, I agree on the complexity! From many photos (not including yours of course) the damier ebene JUST looks like brown checkerboard. But when I saw the alma bb in DE in person, it was much more beautiful than the pictures.

Yes! I remember when I first saw DE in the boutique and under the lights it practically sparkled with blues and reds and purples and browns. I always imagined the alma bb in DE as my first bag (that was my first LV love) but I went with the speedy b 25 in DE instead since it was more practical for every day. I love mono too (esp with black trim) but DE just holds that special place in my heart.

I’m also not the biggest fan of DE, I think I just prefer to show some brandname when I buy an expensive bag/slg

I have two DE item, a cosmetic pouch and a cardholder. The cardholder is from the studs collection and I love that thing but the CP, I bought that with almost pain in my heart :giggle: I really wanted the mono CP but it was never in stock. Now I have it I’m fine with it but I know that if there’s ever coming a LE cosmetic pouch in some sort of mono style I will buy it and my DE will be neglected.

Besides this I just can’t help that the checkerboard style is reminding me of my youth where I had this phase of being rock/emo kid and everything had to be checkered. From shoes to bags, mostly from the brand Vans and now I will forever associate the checkerboard print with those memories  I’m sorry LV:giggle:

I find it professional-looking with the dark brown color scheme so I prefer it for that reason. I was never drawn to monogram so if I wanted an LV I needed to find something else. I started with the DE key cles and the color and style grew on me enough to buy bags in the print.

I don't like it, either. It’s just meh to me.
I wish they would give up the concept of separating men and women and make the women's bags also in damier graphite (and monogram eclipse). That would speak to me
I'd buy DE if it were in those colors!!! It'd look beautiful in the women's bags and I'd love silver hardware.

I was never a fan of the DE print. I had a neverfull GM, hated the straps and it just didn't sing to me like the monogram print does! I think that's one of the best things abut LV.... a print for everyone!

I won’t say I love DE, but my speedy B 25 DE is probably my most carried bag in winter and looks best with my wardrobe. I can’t imagine not having it.

That said, I don’t gravitate to DE. I had a Graceful MM in DE and never carried it.I felt the print/color was just too overwhelming for me … I think the print works better on smaller bags.
I agree about it working better on smaller bags. I love my PA and Speedy B25 in DE :)
