I'm a fan of LV but I honestly can't say I've ever loved the look of damier ebene. I get why people like it. It's more low key and it has no vachetta which are both pluses in my eyes. But just from an aesthetic standpoint I don't find it attractive. The brown shade is a little off for me. While I know I don't need to find it attractive, I'd like to hear from folks who feel the same way or even love DE. What do you love or dislike about it? The only bag I've actually really liked in DE is the alma bb, but even then I like the monogram one so much more.

I won’t say I love DE, but my speedy B 25 DE is probably my most carried bag in winter and looks best with my wardrobe. I can’t imagine not having it.

That said, I don’t gravitate to DE. I had a Graceful MM in DE and never carried it.I felt the print/color was just too overwhelming for me … I think the print works better on smaller bags.

Beauty, not really. I don't think either of the historic prints is beautiful, but they're something else--quintessentially of the house's deep history, signifiers of old-school luxury, test-of-time classics. These are the qualities in LV that I appreciate most. Damier Ebene is as practical as LV gets in its canvas. My DE Speedy 30 (not a Speedy B) is a forever piece and always looks amazing.

Honestly I think DE is much more complex than monogram. If you look closely under good light you can see multiple colors in the pattern. Plus it goes with everything. I love the flowers in monogram but actually prefer the colors of DE and wish they made more bags in it. The alma bb in DE is one of the best looking bags ever made.

I agree, the damier is complex in design.

DE was the print of my first LV bag and also the first canvas print of LV. I also think DE can look both casual or dressy with a nice outfit plus being all weather bag is a great bonus! However, as careful as I am with my bag collection, looking at the corner wear of DE and monogram bags the DE has rubbed off print areas and my monogram bags do not have any but only normal honey patina to the vachetta. I probably won't add anymore DE bags.
