I have hauled belongings in this bag, on two trips already. The straps look thin buy this leather really is tough and so are the rivets holding them in. I really don't see them falling apart any time soon. The bag is just molding more and becoming more flexible, except for the bottom. The bottom is just as flat and firm as it was on day one 👍 seams also, the stitch thread is not budging. The only thing, I wish the handle drop was longer because the capacity of the bag is really large but being that it sits under your forearm it's not very practical but that's only when you completely overload it. Which I do often lol so I wish it sat on my waist, running with an overpacked WP through the airport would be a breeze. 😆

Corners are stitched inward and as the bag gets softer it kind of makes them tuck in a little bit under when the bag is sitting. I have not treated my bag gently by any means in these last 3.5 months and the corners look solid. I think it has to do how well the leather was tanned. I have sat this bag on concrete a bunch of times but the only scuffs that show are some on the sides that I probably knicked with my cuticle nipper (I have a cuticle ocd lol)

How do the corners hold up? I was previously interested in a Madewell but was turned off by how badly worn the corners looked only after a few months.

Well here's an honest look, I guess I don't look much at the bottom. I don't mind this, love the worn in look and thoroughly enjoy the bag's functionality [emoji16] but if this is a problem for you, now you know. [emoji5]

I'm reviving this thread, because I'm seriously considering this tote. Brown totes are apparently my jam, and I already have the Madewell Transport (in 2 colors) and the J Crew Downing. I like the rustic look of the Whipping Post, and I need something with at least a little bit of structure.

Does anyone know where the bags are made? I've heard a few reports saying Texas & USA, but I can't seem to find any info for sure. I'd love to hear reviews from others who own the tote.

Does anyone have the Vintage tote and Standard? I would like to know the weight difference between the two. I am leaning more towards the Standard, I like the "sophisticated" look on it for my corporate world.

TIA!

I was also curious about the weight of the standard tote so I sent an email to customer service. I was told that the standard tote weighs 2 lbs 2 oz. On the website, the vintage tote is listed at 2.2 lbs.
