I personally like the well-loved look, especially with the mono canvas.
But the Suhali line is so elegant and just-so, I think I would prefer them to be more "perfect" looking. Any way you slice it, for what you paid for those bags, the wear is unacceptable.

I like mine with a nice medium patina. None of them are there yet, but I don't exactly love the look of a new LV because then I'm even more worried about scratching/staining it. I am a nut about it in the first few months, but then I get over it. I won't mind if the patina is even, but I'll have a fit if I get a major mark on any of my bags.

I think that I need to clarify my question...I don't mean would you rather buy a new or used bag...What I'm trying to ask is AFTER you buy a brand new bag would you rather it stay in perfect mint condition like it's never been used or have signs of use (obvioulsy you wouldn't purposly damage your bag but accidents).

Basicly - Do you have a panic attack if your bags gets a small unnoticable mark on it?

I definately like signs of use (& a medium patina on LV bags); I cannot stand the shiny "I just bought it today" look. But I"m like that with most things, it must have some signs of personalization & familiarity. Like with clothing, I want it to look like it's my fave piece & that I've been wearing it a lot. & when I bought a new car, I'm like "it's way too clean & foreign in here, we've got to get some crumbs in here & some dirt on the mats!!"

I totally agree with Nikki, but want to point out there is a difference between the signs of love and use and signs of damage (in my opinion at least).

I'm anal with all my bags but I learned that even brand new bags from the boutique have slight scratches on the gold hardware. I learned to live with this flaw. It's inevitable esp. where there is heavy handling.

Just as certain bags look better and better as they age, and some do not, there are certain kinds of aging that look good and other kinds that don't. It's kind of like wabi sabi -- there are whole books written about how certain fraying of the tassels on rugs or patina on wood is beautiful and a sign of natural aging over a long time, whereas an injury to the surface or stains or dirt is not wabu-sabi -- it's an ugly sign of careless use. Well, I think the concept is easily applied to bags.

I like the bags to look new. But a well-worn bag means it's been loved/used for some time. Patina that is practically black looks harsh. I say, time to get a new bag if it's hit that stage.;)

Perfect, absolutely perfect. Unless I know I made those marks, and when I did it.. then it would add something to the bag. I'd really prefer not to have a non-imaculate bag !

The same thing happened to my bag too. I have a Suhali L'Fab also and I managed to knock out a little screw/rivet on one of the corners. (I always hit the corners...accidently.) I got really upset when I found out it was missing so I brought it to my local LV store right away. They fixed it relatively quickly and my bag was just like new. So I don't think you should feel bad for wanting your L'Fab to look new. To me the bags in the Suhali collection should look new, and the monogram ones with a little patina. IMO :D

I think the only bags that I think look better with signs of use are the mono canvas ones - and again, "signs of use" to me means patina, not scratch marks, stains, or pen marks.

Most of the other lines, I prefer to look brand new and pristine - suhali, mini mono, vernis.

Damier and epi can look fine with some moderate signs of use, but of course it should still look pristine at the same time - ie, no scratches, stains, rips.
