She asked which of the 2 we prefer, these are settings she likes :)
Neither are my personal choice, but since she asked which of these 2 we prefer. . . .

I just realized the first pic I posted got flipped... this should look better!!

Larger stones in the shank and halo actually have the opposite effect when you're trying to make a stone look larger. It just looks like you have a smaller stone in a large ring.

IDK, I looked at that link and to me, after seeing my diamond & halo in person, that looks A LOT like the ring I posted except that the one I posted is a cushion halo and the other is a round halo. Both are french set. I guess I can't really speak to diamond weight in each setting tho. Guess I just have to go with my gut and realize that when you take these pics in the jewelry store you definitely catch every extra sparkle & flash as well!!

The difference is in the size of the melee diamonds. The ones used in Frankie's setting are at most 2 pt stones and the one in the setting you're looking at appear to be 4pts or more, especially in the shank, that makes a big difference in how the main diamond will look. They're also set in a different style of pave. That jeweler can also make a squared off cushion style halo as well, not just a round.

If that isn't the look you're after, that's fine, I just want to point out the difference in style and the way your main stone with "register" to the eye. And make sure you check out ALL of the options before you sink the money into a setting for this stone that you may or may not love later.
