None for me today. I'm redocorating and cleaning my apartment. I'm going for the arts and crafts look. So I have to cull, cull, cull my wardrobe. The scarves are staying of course.

Grands Fonds in cobalt blue today with black peacoat, ankle length dark jeans, orange Prada flats, and orange Kelly.

HG--sounds fun! I need a visual--what would be an "arts and crafts" look?

Rose, you just reminded me that I've got a Black Satin Nightshirt that I'd completed overlooked. Thanks!

I'm wearning Brides de Gala in pale pink and grey colorway with pale pink cashmere T-shirt, charcoal cashmere v-neck cardigan, charcoal wool trousers, black Ferragamo loafers and a 32cm Black Box Calf Kelly.

The arts and crafts movement is characteristic of work by Frank Lloyd Wright. The looks is minimal, with blocky furniture, simple lines, and sparse surroundings. Here's something similar to what I'm doing. You'll notice I like neutral furniture as well.:p Oh, I'm mixing in mission style furniture, like the type made by the Stickley Brothers.

BTW, I stepped out to buy groceries and put on my indigo New Orleans scarf, du-rag style around my head, as it was raining outside.

Ohhhh - I ADORE Frank Lloyd-Wright!

We're having an Eames fetish here, at the moment.
Oh, GF, if only you were here longer. I'd plan a day trip into Pennsylvania with you to see "Falling Waters". I discussed my redecorating plans with Shopmom and asked her what she thought of a waterfall running through the living room of my hi-rise apartment.

Don't worry, I plan on coming back and doing the architecture thing...we can do it then! Meanwhile, I'll be the VERY annoying tourist, walking around, gazing up at all the buildings and probably being punched in the kidneys by New Yorkers - LOL! I'm DYING to see some of the NY architecture!

^^In that case, go down to the East 30's and 40's. And this will be the only time I will ever tell anyone this, but DO look up in this area. Most of the buildings in this area are in the Art Deco style. Most were built during the Great Depression as part of FDR's New Deal. Government subsidies went into building those skyscrapers, such as the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building. It was the government's attempt to increase employment during this time. And these buildings are the result and their architecture represents the style popular then, Art Deco. To this day, I still gawk at the angular aluminum embellishments.

YES! I've been reading up on that district (is it a district?) - I'm a huge Deco fan, too......two weeks to go , I'm getting excited!!!!!!!

Oh, and GF today - orange cotton scarf with the little Mongols on it, name of which is escaping me....worn as a headscarf - I'm working today!
