Hello
Thank you all so much. I totally see that the roman numerals stand out against the mop dial. The reason I am considering the diamonds is because this is a major purchase for me and I don't want to regret not getting the diamond markers in the future

Then you have already made a decision:)

Hello again
I haven't made a decision ...hence the post. I want to wear this watch everyday so that also comes into play...I feel diamond markers maybe too ott as I work in a school...saying that a rolex maybe too ott anyway for a school! I am just confused! I do like the look of the roman numerals but as it's my big purchase I think maybe I should just go for the diamond markers too. Thank you all for your replies! Xx I like the idea of saving money and getting a bracelet!

I would say go for diamond markers for your first Rolex. You won't regret it. Roman Numeral for your second one, in the future as the prices go up like crazy. If you are already spending a substantial amount for the Rolex, then go all the way, best that you can afford.

Hello nvie,
Thank you. That's exactly my worry....I think I may go all out and if I am lucky enough to buy one in the future I can opt for a more subtle look. Esp with the price increases as you say x

SS/YG Datejust 26mm with diamond markers and white MOP was my first Rolex 8 years ago. My husband decided to go all the way for that. Today, the price has gone up by 65%.

I just bought a SS/WG Datejust 31mm with Roman numerals on pink dial for my 40th birthday. It's the same price as the first watch. Yikes....so I am certain you made the right choice with the diamond markers in that combination.

So glad that I didn't settle for Oyster Perpetual 31mm, that is so similar to the Omega Aqua Terra 30mm, purchased in 2011. Comparing the two watches, Omega was more expensive than the Rolex Oyster Perpetual but today, Oyster Perpetual is 30% more.

Thats a crazy price increase!

Thank you so much for your advice! Both of your watches are stunning...great choice! Mine wld be a mixture of both your watches :) Happy birthday! X

I love both but prefer the diamond markers just a bit more.

re: feeling like the diamond markers may be a bit "much". I felt the same way, bought a second watch with stick hands and decided the diamond markers weren't too much after all. I'll wear the more subdued one to the office but really think the one with diamonds feels more "special". You should go with the one which excites you, especially for your first watch.

Diamonds on Rolex watches are really gorgeous! As it's your first Rolex watch I would like many already suggested go for diamond dial, it's the best of both worlds! [emoji7] Just make sure you choose a nice mop dial, not too plain and colorful, as they all so different..(imho as I have a rolex with mop dial with romans which I don't like anymore, it's way too plain, simple white, when I bought it I didn't pay attention to such details, it was expensive mistake to make[emoji57])

We are here to help each other) Rolex mop dials are really different as every mop is unique, and some of them are beyond gorgeous) My another datejust with a mop dial and diamond markers (it was a push present[emoji4]) is sooo beautiful, it has such beautiful mix of colors that every time I look at it I'm soo in love))
In any case, good luck with your decision! [emoji6]

I think the Roman numerals have a bit of an edge when it comes to elegance; also, they would be easier to read. But that's just my personal preference. Both are absolutely gorgeous and I would be proud to wear either.
