I actually like the RG more than YG on you. I think what causes the RG to "fade" into your skin tone is actually the colour of the dial. Have you considered/ tried RG with other colour dials like the MOP instead of BMOP?

I love the rose gold with the bmop better, it is lovely. I have a 31 midsize with rose gold and stainless steele with the chocolate face and scattered diamond bezel. Love it.

Hi all,
So, I'm finally going to be taking the plunge soon (hopefully within the next few months) and getting myself my first all gold watch. I already have a SS Must 21 de Cartier (changed the white rubber band to a SS a long time ago), a Two-Tone Cartier Tank Anglaise (SS and yellow gold) and I have always lusted after the Daytona. My dilemma lies with which gold to get. I know I'm between yellow gold and the everose (WG isn't in the running this time around). I NEVER wear rose gold but the everose Daytona looks amazing. But... I don't have a single piece of rose gold. I'm a yellow gold fan and thought that is what I would want for my Daytona but I find the yellow to be maybe... a bit too flashy? By nature, I'm super casual (t-shirt and jeans kinda gal) though I do work so I still have to dress appropriately (business casual). The everose seems a bit more understated than the yg.

On an everyday basis I wear my platinum wedding band and pave engagement ring, a YG beaded Tiffany bracelet, and one of the two watches I've mentioned above on my left arm and yg JUC and some rings in both silver and gold on my right arm. I'm fine with mixing metals as long as it still looks good. My skin is a caramel color, so I'm darker. Would it look weird to have just one, albeit large, rose gold piece or do you all think it would still look good based on what I wear regularly? I don't want to buy a rose gold piece and then find that I have to add more rose gold pieces to my collection so that I can make it work.

Thoughts?

I don't think it would be a problem to mix metals as long as you are okay with it. I really like mixing metals but I have friends that only like to match. Have you tried them on in the store yet? It might be helpful to see if one color gold looks better on your skin tone or if you like the look of it with your other jewelry. Usually when I try things on in the store I find that one metal color really looks better on my skin tone than others and the decision becomes pretty easy. I don't think you can go wrong either way-the Daytona is a beautiful watch. Best of luck on your decision and let us know what you choose :)

I think I would like to see pictures of both on you, but it sounds like you really are set on the rose gold! It really is beautiful on that watch! Do you find yourself wearing one of the Cartiers for work or business environments? I don't think you should worry about something being too flashy - get whichever you enjoy the most!

Hi! What a nice dilemma!

Yellow gold hands down for me. That would be my vote. Timeless, ageless, classic..

I have a white gold rolex datejust, and a two tone (white and yellow) Cartier tank. But my rolex president is all yellow gold. I wanted my "best" to be in all yellow.

I mix metals all the time. Doesn't bother me. I do have a few rose gold pieces (gifts mainly; like Tiffany rose gold earrings and a rose gold bracelet) but they never wow me like yellow gold (or even shiny silver/white gold/platinum can). Basically rose gold is something I overlook in my jewelry box. Just no oomph when beside the rest.

I'm Asian and my skin is caramel colored too. Rose gold looks bad on me. I can't explain. I just am not a fan.

That's just my two cents. I do hope you have fun deciding and I hope you love what you go with!

Cheers!

Thanks for your replies!!! I'm on the hunt to find a store that carries both watches so that I can really compare. Unfortunately, not many places around here have both in stock. I'm calling around to see if I can find somewhere within a hour drive. Fingers crossed! I really don't want to make the wrong decision on this and regret it later.
