I have to admit that I prefer the YSL if I had to make a choice. I would love to get my hands on that Givenchy though - it's on my wishlist!!!

Ditto. I love the YSL; it's a classic that you will be able to use for years, and the fillagree handle is gorgeous. I think a 20 something can pull the bag off, as well as a 60 something. It's definitely a bag that spans the ages.

The Givenchy is cool too though, and it is on my wishlist as well.

If I was looking for a bag to add to my permanent collection I would go with the YSL.

Tough choice...both are really great bags. I guess the question is, what kind of style are you looking for because they are so different in that aspect. Did you want a more casual bag, or one that looks like it could be both? The Givenchy looks like it's more casual because of the "messenger" style. I think you might be able to use the YSL more. Can't you just keep both ;) ?

Let us know what you decide...

Tough choice really i agree!!
what ever you decide on i must say you'll be definately happy with!
cause both are lovely!
if u want something that will serve you more in terms of different looks u can achieve with.. do go with YSL:flowers:
but i am leaning towards Givenchy cause i love the messenger style

Greendrv or Angst do either of you know what the Givenchy biker messenger retailed for or when it came out? Trying to figure out what a good price for it would be. Thanks! I'm pretty sure I'm going w/the YSL for the sole fact that I'm not a fan of the messenger style...bummer as it's a really cute bag.

I'm pretty sure the Givenchy came out in FW 2002. I can't recall what retail for the bag was, but it would be around $500-$700 given the price of the pumpkin line and the size of the bag.
