I haven't tried on the Menilmontant but I don't like its flap. The Saumur has flaps but it looks cooler and has more character to me.

I hope more opinions are coming...........

I have the menilmontant pm and love it. Just purchased it this week. I also just picked up a pre-loved like new saumur 30 and I love it too. In my opinion the saumur has a little more room than the menilmontant because of the two sides but the menilmontant is easier to get into. I think out of your choices above the saumur is the best choice and you are right it has a lot of character!

Firstly - definitely NOT too old for a cross-body bag. I think they can look casual and chic at any age, its just a matter of what they're paired with.
That out of the way, out of your choices I would definitely say Saumur - I have had a long-standing admiration for that bag and I agree that it has a lot of character. I do have the Idylle Speedy and love it and if your only concern with it is the softness, you could always look into getting a base shaper - I think there's been a fair bit of discussion about these in the Idylle clubhouse.
I also happen to really like the look of the Menilmontant but haven't seen it in the flesh yet and if you're not keen on the flap then its sort of a moot point.
So yes, provided you want it to stay on the casual front I think the Saumur is a great choice. GLD!

I'm older than you and I adore my idylle in fusain... but if you're going to wear it strictly crossbody, for movies, traveling etc... I would pick the Bloomsbury PM. It's just built better for that purpose. I love it, and it's not so 'in your face' LV, perfect for a classy woman on the go. :) Good luck!

I'm 36, 5'2 and more than 110 :p. I have the Bloomsbury GM and love it! It's worry free and great when you're out and need to be hands free.

so my vote is for the Bloomie PM.

I am 52 and I love crossbody bags. I was carrying them long before they became a thing in the last few years. I have Musette tango and I love it. Sometimes you just need to be hands free.

Hmmm. Hard decision. I have a bloomsbury PM and I love it. I also have a Saumur 30 on the way from Ebay and would LOVE a Speedy B30. If I had to pick one...Bloomie. Love that bag and it's super comfy and cute and low maintenance.

I'm about your age and body type, and I have always carried and loved crossbody bags. I don't know if it's fashionably appropriate, but I don't much care. It works for me. From your choices and your updated post, I'd go with the Saumur. I initially wanted that bag, but the boutique didn't have one (but then I fell in love with the Menilmontant MM and got that). I think the Saumur is a good casual bag that fits the needs you listed and looks good too!

Everybody is cross body crazy right now..LOL...I just posted these on another thread, too.
I tried the menilmo...whatever...but I thought that it was kind of boring looking.
I have had Odeon PM, Speedy B 25, and saumur 30. Saumur 30 is my favorite- so cool looking. Although, I LOVE Speedy B 25, too- and because you are petite, that might be your best bet.
Saumur is pretty long, even on the shortest setting. Bloomsbury is freakishly long..lol. Speedy B 25 can be adjusted a lot better.

I went to the boutique today and tried on the Bloombury PM, the Menilmontant PM, and the Saumur 30 and instantly felt in love with the Saumur. I found it's hard to get in and out because of the buckles but I love the style and brought it home with me. I like the Bloomsbury PM too and might look for one on eBay.
Thanks so much everyone for your suggestion especially Trumanfinn - your picture wearing the Saumur 30 crossbody really nice on you and made me want the bag so bad. Good thing it's not long on me even though I'm not using the shortest hole.
