Hold up...

Isn't it kind of bad to wear white to a wedding? I think the "rule" is that only the bride should wear white...

OMG, is it? I didn't know ... I'm Vietnamese Canadian, and most of the weddings (Vietnamese) I went to had people wearing all kinds of colors, including white. I myself have never worn a white dress before, but I thought with that fuchsia purse white would be the perfect color to go with.

Hmm, let me ask my friends to see what they have to say ... Of course I don't wanna be rude to the bride.:oh:

Yeah, in America, at least. The bride is supposed to "stand out" or something, I think. I'm not sure where you currently are, but ask around (and ask all kinds of people, like both older and younger women) to see what the "policy" is around where you are.:flowers:

hey HaiLy welcome to the PF! you're going to have so much fun here! i totally think the SHIRLEY is beautiful - but then again you get a chance to buy a new piece of LV so woo hoo go the Lexington!

Hey guys I just asked the bride, who is a very close friend of mine, and she said yes it would be rude for guests (girls) to wear white dress to wedding. Hehehe ... and it's funny since her sister just asked her the same question too. :D

Luckily that northernbelle33 ringed a bell for me, thank you so much  Now I have to consider other colors to go with my fuchsia Lexington.

Thanks helenNZ for the warm welcome. It seems that everyone here is so nice! :smile1:

i'm also attending a friend's wedding this summer and i've been contemplating what to wear for a while. i think i'm going to wear a white suit + pink tank under the blazer + pink shoes and carry a manhattan pm. would that be weird?

Yes an all white dress to a wedding would be a no no. Its ok if it has white in the dress but not all white. I would think a Lexington or Shirley would be ok. I think the Lexington is not carried as much because it carries next to nothing. Whatever you decide to put in it will be a tight fit. Its pretty though.

Sara, hm, tough call. If you wear white the bride might get offended. I wouldnt chance it. People seem to offend easily these days. Ivory is ok I think.

That sounds really summery and cute!

Do you have a photo of what you'll be wearing? We can offer more guidance if we can visualize your ensemble.

Personally, I think a Lexington would be your best bet. They are sleek and elegant-- perfect for either a daytime or nighttime affair. The Framboise Lexington is a great choice, and they're usually in stock on eluxury. I love that color!!!
