I hear you. I had to go through two different boutiques and two exchanges to find one without any flaws/leather issues. It seems like it's an issue for both 20B & 21C white but I feel like the 20B leather is still better quality than 21C. Once I found one without any issues, it's holding up well. Took it on several road trips so far and nothing to complain about.

Hi everyone,
Am very new to seasonal Classic flaps as I have only purchased black Classic flaps, in the Jumbo and M/L sizes.
I am really looking forward to purchase a small or medium white Classic flap. I saw a small Classic flap with gold hardware in white caviar that has a luster to it in the Chanel Paris Cambon store but I forgot to ask if it was a 20B or a 21C :-(. It had champagne gold hardware. If I purchase either one, it will be my first seasonal bag adventure.
Which white do you prefer?
What do you think?

According to my SA, 20B and 21C are actually the same color. He said that the only difference is that 20B is silver hardware and 21C is champagne hardware. I think it just depends which hardware suits your lifestyle better. I went with the silver as it feels more casual and easier to wear.

I found a photo that I took a few days ago. Do you think it is the 21C? I have doubts now that it is the gold hardware...I thought it was but my memory seems to be warped. What do you think? Thanks for your input.

I was leaning towards the 21C LGH but now that I was able to compare it in person (nothing beats being able to see it in real life), I have chosen to keep my 20B SHW. I took some comparison pics to help others with the same decision to make. Overall, I preferred the white shade, leather, and hardware combo from 20B because:
- 20B leather is puffier and sturdier than 21C
- 20B white is the closest to a true white shade whereas 21C has a slight yellow undertone
- 20B has larger grains than 21C. This is a preference for a lot of people, but I prefer the larger grain (reminds me of vintage Chanel)
- 21C has a shinier and plastic look. Also a preference but I prefer the leather on the 20B as it looks higher quality. There's still a shine on 20B but it's just the right amount.
- For the hardware, SHW on white is so clean and so minimalistic and it's easier to carry casually. I felt the LGH is definitely more mature. However if I had to decide on Gold HW or Light Gold HW, I would go for the Light Gold on another bag color.

The reason I was even debating between the two seasons was also because I felt the white classics from 20B had leather tearing issues and I thought 21C would be better. Now that I was able to get a replacement bag for my 20B which no longer has the tears and stitching issues, I see that the bag from 21C also has the same issues (circled in red in images):
- 21C leather creases when you have the flap open
- 21C also has the same tear issues on the back where the threads are

Comparison photos were taken both in indoor light and near natural light by the window. Hope this comes in use for some!
