Which Hardware for White Classic Flap

So lucky! Are you based in the US? I was told it's not officially launched yet so I'm dying to see it in person. You describe it warmer than a true white, do you think it's similar to 20B white? Thank you for posting your photo!

Yes, I’m based in the US. It’s hard to say if it’s exactly like 20B since I had turned that down (I specifically wanted light gold hardware), but in my photo, I sat my 21C on a piece of paper so I hope that can be used as a reference. I think we’d all agree the paper is white, but if we compare the bag or the paper to the Chanel camellia flower in the background, then maybe it doesn’t look as white anymore. I hope that makes sense

Do you mind me asking if the bag was purchased through pre-launch at the 57th St NY boutique? I was told pre-launch was only available at that location. If not, may I ask which boutique/SA you went through over PM?

For your bag, did you notice any stitching issues on the seam? I'm hoping 21C has better quality than 20B.

Hi there, I actually got the 21C white yesterday so I took a picture this morning (the AM light is very warm but I think the picture is pretty accurate). It’s slightly warmer than a true white, but it still looks white and not ivory on me. I have a warmer leaning skin tone though and most of my wardrobe reflects this, so it fits perfectly with my color palette. It really pops without being clashing. If you have a cooler color palette though, you should choose a cooler white since it would actually be less jarring on you. Basically, your perfect white really depends on your undertones. I hope that makes sense

So I was lucky to be able to locate the 21C white last week and it arrived today! I was leaning towards the 21C LGH but now that I was able to compare it in person (nothing beats being able to see it in real life), I have chosen to keep my 20B SHW. I took some comparison pics to help others with the same decision to make. Overall, I preferred the white shade, leather, and hardware combo from 20B because:
- 20B leather is puffier and sturdier than 21C
- 20B white is the closest to a true white shade whereas 21C has a slight yellow undertone
- 20B has larger grains than 21C. This is a preference for a lot of people, but I prefer the larger grain (reminds me of vintage Chanel)
- 21C has a shinier and plastic look. Also a preference but I prefer the leather on the 20B as it looks higher quality. There's still a shine on 20B but it's just the right amount.
- For the hardware, SHW on white is so clean and so minimalistic and it's easier to carry casually. I felt the LGH is definitely more mature. However if I had to decide on Gold HW or Light Gold HW, I would go for the Light Gold on another bag color.

The reason I was even debating between the two seasons was also because I felt the white classics from 20B had leather tearing issues and I thought 21C would be better. Now that I was able to get a replacement bag for my 20B which no longer has the tears and stitching issues, I see that the bag from 21C also has the same issues (circled in red in images):
- 21C leather creases when you have the flap open
- 21C also has the same tear issues on the back where the threads are

Comparison photos were taken both in indoor light and near natural light by the window. Hope this comes in use for some!

Yes, 20B was white with SHW. I don't think they will get rid of this combo; just rotates season to season.

very detailed! i am sure this will help a lot of people out in deciding with one to get. I do love our 20B and that slight sheen to it just make it stand out even more.
