Will travel with a leather cross body bag typically as I do not like any nylon or plasticky type of bags. My latest is a Coach Legacy Duffle which is very low key and can fit the essentials like ipad&iphone.

Previously used my Balenciaga Velo and it's now pretty banged up but still used occasionally. Lambskin and travelling does not mix no matter how careful one can be! Got a big scratch in the front on its first trip-ouch! Bad idea.

Prior to that was another Coach pebbled leather cross-body/duffle bag which has travelled along with me for many years. Still missed it after I sold it 2 years ago. Reverted back to Coach now obviously as a travel bag in its sisterly reincarnation of a similar style. They're very durable, stylish and inexpensive.

I will absolutely not bring any loud or expensive designer bags when travelling - will be a target for thieves and risk being damaged during the journey. Neither will I bring my expensive jewelry.

When travelling, select your bags based on form and function. Either a cross-body or shoulder carry bag is best. Nothing too expensive that would cause you and your wallet to cringe if it gets scratched, color-transfer from airplane pouch/floor. Forget about "designer" bags when travelling unless you can afford to trash it.

I agree as well depending on where I travel to. When I went to the Philippines a few years ago I borrowed my mom's Coach bag and I left all my expensive jewelry at home. I didn't want to get robbed or kidnapped... they could definitely tell I was a foreigner!

When I travel to Vegas though... that's a different story. I have a small carry on just for my expensive bags and shoes because I'm always paranoid that if I check them in, they'll get stolen (has happened to me once before). I don't trust the airport staff at all!!!

Aside from my carry on I also use my Louis Vuitton Neverful in MM as my "personal bag". Can hold a lot of stuff. However, I find that the leather straps dig into my skin the heavier the bag is. Last time was pretty painful, ouch.

Last year I took a MbMJ preppy Natasha for my crossbody bag and a Longchamp Le Pliage for my tote.

This year it might be a Coach Madeline for my crossbody bag and my trusty Longchamp Le Pliage.

I've also taken smaller Le Pliages, LV pochette, and a Kate Spade scout for day trips. It's all dependent on where I'm going and what I'm doing.

I tend to take cheaper, less assuming bags when I am traveling. For an upcoming trip to a Caribbean all inclusive, for instance, I plan to bring a 31 beach canvas bag with a colorful print and for dinner small clutches from Stella & Dot. They are all fun and cheery but I am not going to cry if one gets mangled or stolen.

Sunglasses is what I struggle with. I am a sunnie snob and I don't own any cheap ones. I lost a pair of Pradas in a rental car while traveling and have not yet recovered. I wish I looked good in a few cheap ones so I could travel with those for safety.

I prefer MICHAEL Michael Kors Hamilton Large Tote Python-embossed for vacation. I love these handbags. This bag containing golden hardware, frame top with logo-engraved lock detail, with hanging luggage tag and key.

Going on two very different trips within a couple of weeks. This weekend I'm taking some time off and going to Sweden for a short getaway. I'll be taking my small Benetton trolley, Wine red Lumi Supermarket XXL and, for the evenings on board the cruise boat, my brand new RM Mini Mab Tote. Plus a Le Pliage, folded in the trolley.

For Easter I'm going to my Mum's for 2 days and taking my parrots with me so I'll be bringing a black polka dot Ju-Ju-Be Be Right Backpack and a small DKNY crossbody. The birds' travel cages will be in Ikea bags. So I'll probably look like a hobo. With an Ikea bag that talks. :p

I like looking nice on vacation so I plan outfits with various bags. So for a 10-14 day trip I can easily take 5 or 6 bags. And I don't flinch at taking my nicest bags. I don't travel anywhere dangerous so why not take my bags that make me happiest. 😄
