Which Gucci Dionysus should I get - Hibiscus Red or Emerald Green?

Hi Miss World, I have the Dionysus in green leather and now I’d like to have the red as well :rolleyes:
Green was a no brainer for me because I love green leather, it’s my first preference for a non neutral bag and this is a beautiful and versatile shade of green. Very easy for me to wear.
But my Dionysus love continues and the red leather bag is tempting me ... :cool::heart:
Also, it’s two years since I bought my green bag with crystal clasp and all crystals are still firmly in place.

Thank you for your reply straight-laced. It is so good to hear that you love your Dionysus and there have been no quality issues. I have never loved a green as much as this shade, it’s very similar to the Hermes Malachite green. I tried both red and green and I love both lol.

While the red is stunning and more versatile in my opinion, you have undoubtedly been saying that you are absolutely in love with the green. So there you have it. You have answered your own question.

I’m no expert on Hermes colours but I believe the Malachite leather like the stone it’s named after goes towards teal blue green in some light conditions - there’s no teal in the Gucci emerald green. It’s a true green for all seasons though and the emerald green crystals are perfect against the leather.
I love both too so I understand your dilemma. One is more perfect for you than the other. I’m sure you’ll get it right and love whichever one you settle on while continuing to admire the one you decide to leave at the store :smile:
(Or you could be like me with black suede and green ... now planning to get a red leather as well :lol: ).

The green is gorgeous!!!! I was actually eyeing that exact bag in the store just the other day! I was contemplating getting it, but I’ve been bad and already ordered 2 bags in the past week:P (I’m a sucker for late night online shopping. Esp when Saks keep having enticing promo/gift card sales)

I say another vote for green! Personally, I think green is a natural now while also adding a pop of color

Thank you everyone seems to love the green, I honestly thought most people would say red because it’s more common. I still think I need both lol. :D

Yes the Small is perfectly practical and the Mini is gorgeous, but the Mini isn't practical enough for me.
FYI here's what happened to me on my green leather Dionysus journey : first I bought the green leather in Small, but returned it because at that time I wasn't liking the rectangular Small Dionysus shape as much as I liked the more square Medium and Mini shape. So then I bought the Mini, which I loved. But I came to understand the problem with the length of the chain and found that the Mini size was too limiting for my regular use, and the Mini size wasn't enough of the beautiful green for me, and I was impressed by how wonderful and hard wearing this particular Gucci leather is. So after a while I bought another green leather Dionysus - the medium size bamboo top handle.
Of course if I'd stayed with my original purchase of the Small size I would have saved myself a lot of trouble and money :amuse::lol:
Anyway, now I'm using the Mini as an evening bag and the bamboo green leather as a smart day bag.
And I like the Small size shape now - it took some getting used to but I have a Small D in suede and it's a great bag, I love it.

Maybe you would be happiest with the Small in red and/or the Mini in green?
