Which bags did you all sell this year and do you miss any?

I haven't kept track of the ones I've sold this year (although I could easily look on ebay if I weren't so darn lazy!), but I have probably sold about 5. Most were small Sophias, although I know I also sold a small glitter wallet that I do regret selling. At the time, I just needed the money. The small Sophias I don't mind selling because I was outgrowing those anyway. I've since replaced those with Lindseys.

I have pared my collection down to about a dozen bags (doesn't count clutches and wallets, or fobs), and that's a good amount for me because I've already taken over most of the top shelves of my master closet with bags. I don't want to completely invade my poor boyfriend's closet space!

I did a massive clean-out this year (and still am planning to pare down a bit more) and sold the following:
4 keyfobs/charms
4 scarves/other accessories
9 Coach bags
5 non-Coach bags

...I still have a couple of items that I want to sell, but am trying to get the timing right! I'm not sure anyone is really shopping the resale market from Black Friday through the end of the year, so maybe next year, haha!

I don't really miss the items I sold - one tip I would give is to make a list of ALL handbags (I used Excel, and also added the keyfobs and scarves, etc. to the list). Then I just kept re-visiting the list, so I could critically see how many items I actually have and which ones I could live without. I highlighted the bags/items that I regretted buying, impulse purchases, or bags that I never use anymore/just don't like to carry. This made it easier to move the item down to the "want to sell" area of the spreadsheet. Then I thought about it some more before actually selling :D

I know it sounds analytical, but I work with numbers/spreadsheets for my job, and this method just made it easier for me. It also helped me not regret anything, because I felt I really pondered my list before impulsively selling my bags.

I did the same thing. I have a list on Google Sheets. I've sold around 15 bags this year. It feels so good. I also have a list of bags I sold plus keeping track of how much I made, so that's pretty motivating. I don't regret any, and I think I'll continue to sell more next year. I have a couple MK wallets to sell, too. :)

Good idea with the Google sheets, for anyone who doesn't have/like Excel. I keep a "sold for" calculation running as well, but I usually am selling at a loss so it's not *quite* as motivating for me, lol :roflmfao:

I agree with Kells1983 on making a list. Her idea of a spreadsheet on excel is great. I am not good with excel so I just have a simple "Note" on my phone. It really helps to see how many and what you have. I also list the bags sold to remind myself of my progress and what bags/style I don't need.

Notes would work too! Anywhere you can visually see a listing and total # of items makes it a less emotional experience than just looking at/touching the bags in your closet and trying to decide, imo...

All but 2 and nope do not miss them!
Wow! you guys are amazing! Heartiest congrats to each one of you for cleaning out your closets. The 'feel good' is exactly what i am going for and i have a long way to go. Appreciate all the ideas and encouragement. Iamminda, Thank you so much for all your support.

My end goal is to keep only 5 bags. I made a list of bags i can't part with but it comes to 11. so, for now, my target goal is to keep 12 bags and sell the rest.

I sold all my coach and MK bags this year but two (everyday bags, I did keep a few other special occasion bags) and I do not miss them. I had way too many bags. My mindset switched this year to overall having less clutter and I am super glad I did it.
For everyday bags, I kept my large black high rise borough and winter floral tote from last year. I also kept a LV, Burberry, 2 long champs and a mark by mark Jacobs. I bought a Gucci with the money I made selling so I now have 8 everyday bags in classic colors and styles to rotate.
I kept a couple coach wristlets, makeup bags, wallets and clutches. A few years ago I rehabbed a vintage stewardess bag and couldn't part with it because it was such a great deal and is in such great condition. I kept some basic totes for travel too. Overall I probably got rid of 30 bags this year and am not not going to be in the market for any bags or accessories anytime soon.

I sold a couple of Marc by Marc Jacobs bags... loved the leather but they weren't practical enough for me because they were cavernous and didn't fit in with much of my wardrobe (one was red and black striped and the other was a dark red). I don't regret either sale.

I love handbags but I still try to keep my collection really small (5-10). I sold my Dooney this year but do not regret the sell and I gave away 2 coaches, and 2 Kate spades to my younger sisters. They appreciate the bags and I like to see that my bags have gone to happy homes and are still being loved :)

Alright, so I followed the idea of making a list- I think I can whittle my collection down to selling a total of 14 or so. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!

good for you. keep it up abl13. Good job selling 30 bags. I wish i had the patience.

Down to these .... the tote because I am using it as a laptop bag and the straw because it's selling season passed b4 I decided to dump them all
Guys, Q for you.
There isn't a factory outlet near by and i am not invited to shop at FOS. So, most of my bags are FP with the exception of PCE purchases. I was disheartened with the current market price of my bags( I looked at sold items on ebay). It looks like I'll have to sell them for 1/4th of the original price. Did you all have to sell your bags well below their original pricel? Are you all OK with that? Oh my. I wish i had the foresight to return them all before coach changed their return policy.
