It's amazing how this thread has rekindled our love for this necklace lol! Now, we're here ordering them lol! I'm still waiting on mine.

Uggghhh....I'm on the jewelry hunt. I might have to email my jeweler about this.

I contacted a couple of jewelers about getting diamond beads in an 18 karat white gold chain and they said it's not easy to get good quality diamond beads (color and clarity) in these sizes. I also contacted a couple of diamond dealers abroad who have smaller beads, but then no chain. I didn't want to risk that the chain won't fit the holes ... plus, buying diamond beads sight unseen as it's difficult for me to imagine the sizes without trying them on my neck.

Please post a picture of this when you get it! I am interested in getting the graduated beads as well :)

i'll post pics when i receive it, it should be a few weeks because the jeweller is sourcing the graduated beads. another reason i went with this seller was because she uses clear quartz instead of crystals, im hoping his cuts down on the "aurora borealis" thing that crystals give off:p

I found this seller after I bought the crystal ones. I agree that clear quartz would be better than crystals ... and avoid the aurora borealis. I also like the chain on this seller's necklace (similar to seller 2).

Anybody know if this necklace can be made with a 10/14kt chain/wht saphire rondelles? Wonder if it would look good???

White sapphires would be really nice if you could find clear, sparkly ones. If I like the crystal one I bought, I might also consider having the necklace made in 18kt white gold with white sapphires as the diamond beads might be more difficult to source ... and probably a lot more expensive.

I'm anxiously watching this too. I contacted my jeweler and he can get the diamond beads. As La Van mentioned, he did say that are not easy to come by and not many brokers stock these. It was just a recon call....so I don't have any other information.

I'm also thinking that the beads might look really good spread out on the necklace...more like a diamonds by the yard with a twist! Decisions, Decisions!!!!

LaVan, what kind of prices did they quote for the diamond beads? I googled and read that Fred Leighton sold a limited edition 10 carat version of the Carrie necklace (the original was 20 carats) for about USD 25,000.

I agree that it would be way too risky to order the beads and chain separately.

Looks great on you!! can you please tell me the chain length and beads size?
Is this from the 2nd seller that NurseAnn posted?

I ordered from the 2nd seller like neverenoughbags. Although I haven't received mine, I asked the seller how big the beads were and she said 5mm.

I didn't push for a quote as I was unsure of what I wanted. So, I kind of left it when the jewelers said it's difficult to source good quality/color/clarity diamond beads of bigger sizes. One diamond dealer said he'll have to probably polish/cut rough diamonds for me and asked how big I wanted the beads to be. Since I have no idea what sizes I'll need, I kind of left it at that.

Now, one diamond dealer who does have small diamond beads of 2-3mm in SI, H color said 9 beads would cost around USD 4000 (without the chain). But after seeing the size of 5mm on neverenoughbag's crystal necklace (the same one I ordered), I think 2-3mm beads would be too tiny. Probably 2-3mm would work for the last 2 beads if you want graduating sizes from 5-2mm.

IT'S HERE LADIES!!!

There really is no aurora borealis...or however you spell it....

It's the perfect size...just so cute...

Oooh! I  it! Looks great and as you said, the perfect size. I'm also really glad that there's no aurora borealis effect. I can't wait to get mine.

Thanks so much ladies! It arrived in the mail yesterday!! I just tore that package open like a mad women!

The chain is 16... just as the seller sells it. The beads are 5mm. I just measured them now. It's such a pretty necklace. I'm wearing it today at work. It came in a cute little box from the seller. It really is the perfect size and it will look great layering with my Tiffany Key..and other stuff as well.

Here is the same necklace in case anyone wants to join me... :-) It's from the second seller posted from nurseAnn

Btw... I think it looks good with the 7... nine would make it too big. Maybe it would work if there were of different sizes, like the original... But in this case, the 7 looks closest to Carrie's necklace.

love it neverenoughbags! Could you post a layered picture? I would intend to layer.

I'm considering a costume version. If I like it, I can send it to my jeweler. He has contacts for the broker that got Leighton the beads.:graucho:
