When did the newer dust bags come out?

I’m just wonder if anyone remembers what year they chained from the darker dust bags with the lv logo to the more yellow ones that say Louis Vuitton?

I recently bought an Eva clutch that came with the newer dust bag and also in the yellow packaging and the date code indicates that it was made at the end of 2012. Since it was discontinued and I had to buy on the secondhand market, I have no way of knowing if that's the original packaging, so I'm not sure if that's helpful. Hopefully someone else with a longer history with LV can chime in!

The old dustbags, like in your first photo, were retired when the Épi-style boxes were replaced by the chocolate-brown boxes. It was around 2004.

The dustbags were slightly redesigned in the summer of 2016 when the company changed its packaging to the “saffron + blue” look. The color of the “LOUIS VUITTON” print on the dustbag transitioned from brown to dark blue. The cords also changed from brown to dark blue.

So an item from 2001 would come in the old brown dust bag with the lv? I have a few Toiletry/trousse and Pochette accessoires some from the 80’s (which I know is the old dust bag) but one is from 2001 and I have 4 dust bags and can’t remember which dust bags go with what items.

Are you reselling? I don't think it matters as long as the item fits in the dustbag. Just my 0.02.

Correct. An item from 2001 would come with the LV initials only, not the newer style that has the full name spelled out.

Hi. Hope it is okay to post this here. I have this pochette accessoires which came with the dust bag. I did not take the time to label my dust bags (Rookie mistake!). Does anyone know the size of dust bag that came with this pochette? I believe it was the brown flannel flap over with just LV on the front ? Help…

Brand new to this forum. First post so any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I recently came across a very large LV dust bag that was meant for a Keepall. I loved it because it was wide and a drawstring and it was from a reputable seller. Now that I have it, I'm not sure if it's authentic.

Why I'm skeptical:
1. It is not made of cotton or at least it does not feel like cotton. It isn't soft, kind of feels like unwoven cotton blend, maybe. (I tried to show in the photos, the hardness and texture of the dust bag.)
2. There is not Made In _____/100% cotton tag inside.
3. The drawstring is much thinner.
4. The stitching is unfinished.
Has anyone seen a dust bag like this before? Or have one with harder material that you know is authentic? Did they ever make huge drawstring bags for Keepalls?

Thanks!

I bought a couple of pre-loved bags from Japan that had these stiffer fiber-y bags (they feel sorta like thin felted wool). I didn't think they were legit, but another LV friend there confirmed they were definitely used there in the late 1990-early 2000 time frame. Yes, they used to give drawstring bags with most of the larger bags, but I guess decided it was more cost efficient to provide the fold-over style.
