Whats your take on python skin this season?

I love python and find it very mesmerizing. Just started to really like it in the last few years.

Personally, I tend to prefer solid colors as opposed to multiple, except for the 'natural' look which tends to be beige.

I bought my Jerome Dreyfuss Franky bag last year and love it (so much that I had it painted by the French purse artist Miss Lecroc as you can see in my profile pic.) These are some of the pictures I sent her (she lives in France and I am in NY) so she could see what the bag looks like.

I have python, BV Gucci, Pauric Sweeney, Dior et al and while I love them I won't buy any more (famous last words ). Evening bags are a different of course but since most of mine are day bags I think I will go for something all-weather and sturdy this year.

I adore python and this bag is lovely!

oooh! the leather looks so soft! have you had it for a long time? i can't wait for my pieces to look as soft as yours!!!

several years, it is soft indeed, ad although I read that python of the highest quality retains scales smoothly along the sirgace of the bag, what I LOVE about this bag is that here and there scales are lifted slightly and it gives it certain fuzzy, furry effect which I just love. It is not glossy at all, it is just natural leather.

I am not really in love with snakes but my father, long time ago, taught me how they live and how they behave not to cross your path if not surprized, and even got me to touch a snake one hot summer day. I was seriously surprized how velvety it felt, not cold and slimy at all.

I do not carry this often because people are really repelled by snake skin, at least in my surrounding. However, I personally love it, and (hoping that his snake was not bread just to be killed for its skin), it invokes the feeling of that long ago day when I touched a snake and felt amazed.

Wow! All your clutches look so pretty, I won't know which colour to choose from! Btw your 1st mod pic looks great too! :)
I'm afraid of snakes n have never touched 1 before but I wouldnt mind bags made from their skin especially in such beautiful colours. I wish this brand is available in my country too. Recently I've gotten my 1st python bag from Chanel.

@ vesna: Do you live in LA? Because it seems like there is a ban on python skin there ... its apparently "not allowed". Just found this out the hard way because I thought ild buy one of these Saul At Play clutches for my good friend and post it across to her. I figured it'll be a good gift since its flat and light right? But the lady at the post office said that it wouldn't get through the US customs!! Came home and googled this, and I found out that python skin is OK in the rest of the US, except for California.

ps: ok maybe thats not the hard way... the hard way would be if i personally brought it to LA and got my face pelted with eggs because of my python skin bag....

California's Fish & Game department has made it illegal to sell python in California. But it's not illegal to own it in California or bring your personal python items in.

I was in California in April, and went to the Prada inside of Saks. There were dozens of snakeskin bags. I just had to ask the lady what it was, I knew before that python was made illegal in 1970, so I asked and she told me that it was anaconda! I honestly couldn't tell the difference, so California has found its loophole.
