What's with all the fake Gucci on eBay lately?

Those are some horrific fakes. I have a feeling these "sales" are not really sales at all. I think I've read somewhere of these sellers trying to make things look like they're super popular, like paying for positive reviews.

I want at a discount.

Plus many buy online because boutiques aren't in their area.

Or heck, the buyer could simply be a young person trying to do something nice for their mom with money they worked hard and long for. They may not have the life experience to know better but be trying to do a good thing.

That's all well and good, but unless someone is extremely, extremely, extremely naive, if they are buying on eBay, they know the risk they're taking with buying counterfeit goods.

I'm just saying that if you know you're playing with fire, then I don't feel sorry when or if you get burned. If you're not willing to get burned, then don't play with fire. Why should I feel bad for someone who knowingly took that kind of risk? I honestly don't see anything mean about that.

If someone doesn't realize the risk of buying counterfeit goods on eBay, then I would suggest that person take some more time to learn about shopping and the internet before buying anything online ever again.

Good points.

With online stores Gucci is available to all. Gucci.com/UPS raced my boots and ring up a remote rural mountain last Christmas to make sure I got them in time. They even had to rent a 'DIY' van because where I was, was so remote.

Well.... as I mentioned earlier I almost bought the bag in one of these pictures. I was desperate to find that particular purse online because it was sold out in US & Canada & there's no other way to get it. I've been searching for that particular one in all the major reseller sites & eBay, still on going. I myself is a highly rated eBay power seller so the fact this person had good rating made me took my guard down. I myself sell my own designer goods & also have bought some through eBay as well. I also don't like the fact the re-seller sites take 30-40% commission on the sale. I like eBay as a system, just not the bad people who abuse it for a crime. They are the ones to be blamed I think.

Odd editing of my response.

Anyway, quite obviously, you don't have to see beyond your own perspective to have empathy for anyone. That's an advanced emotion that some don't have.

And I can only assume that you apply these standards to yourself in all aspects of your own life requiring no empathy for any situation you find yourself in.

Best to you.

What's odd? I just wanted to preserve the gist of what you were saying without having to quote all that blabbering word for word. Honestly, were your words so important that they were all SO necessary for me to have to requote all over again?

I find no reason to empathize with someone who knowingly risked buying counterfeit goods. If the thousands of dollars they wasted was so important to them, they should have been more wise with it.

And why you would even think that I would apply "these standards" to myself in "all aspects" of my own life "requiring no empathy for any situation" I find myself in, I have no idea, because I don't even apply those standards to others. All I was talking about was wasting money on fake purses. I wasn't talking about "all aspects" of life--that was you. (And I'm not sure why I should feel too much empathy for someone who lost money due to what is essentially materialism. It's not like wasting money on a fake purse is the same as losing a family member, though I understand some people's priorities might be different than mine.)

Anyway, I get that you were mad and hurt and wanted to be condescending, but you could at least try a little harder to make some sense, okay? Or, at the very least, don't take my words out of context.

Not the best to you. (I'll at least be honest.)

Hi
Just seen a rose beige disco appear for bids or buy it now , though price seemed too good to be true so I asked for more pics of actual bag as pics were stock ones, seller replied she would add more, then she put another listing on using same pics but adding a few new ones of very bad pics , so I contacted her agian to ask if she was selling 2 of same bags ( in the mean time some one had placed a bid ) she came back with no just 1 bag but had to do a new listing to add pics !!!
Just noticed that some one has purchased bag on buy it now , but other one with bid is still available,
I'm sure this/ these bags are fake
Can some one take a look before some one else is ripped off I don't know how to add a link but it's on eBay with 1 bid at £290
Thanks x

There's quite a few questionable discos for sale currently on Ebay, usually around $500.00 and these sellers generally have zero feedback. I live near a Gucci outlet and visit often so I know their prices would be a lot higher than this.

Makes me SICK, someone paid $3200 for this bad fake :yucky:
Can we please do something to stop this seller?
So far the accounts from Ponte Vedra, Florida I found are anandajewels and do2amood. Every single embroidered Dionysus they sold is sooo bad

Omg they look so terrible!! How can people spend so much money on a bag which they havent even SEEN properly!!! (as theyre buying these thinking its real)

So I was perusing eBay today and comparing some prices (deciding whether I should sell one of my bags), and was SHOCKED at the amount of fakes there!
I've been eBay member for nearly 15 years now, and for awhile they were cracking down on counterfeits...

But I think the problem now is that fake bags have gotten so good that even I wouldn't noticed it unless I was comparing to my own. Especially bad are Dionysus, where nearly half sold are fake! And people are paying nearly $2000 for them

I also noticed a pattern - a lot of the fake ones are from sellers in Florida, so I assume it's one distributor with multiple accounts... Shame on them for tricking people out of thousands of dollars.
I made a mistake of buying a Gucci bag on bag because it came with the receipt. Well as soon as I opened it I knew it was fake. It took some very terse emails to the seller and I reported her to eBay. I finally got a full refund including shipping costs. She promptly deleted her other fake bag for sale! Never again will I buy lux bags from ebay. Learned my lesson.

I noticed this too!! Each $500 disco is listed by a different seller, from a different physical location in the country. And they all have zero feedback. I concluded that some crooked person has got a bunch of fake discos and created a different eBay account for each one.

I'm no expert on Gucci (those discos actually didn't look too obviously fake to me), but I felt red flags !
