Yes, the pillow is and inch or two taller than the top of the NF so that is enough keep the straps up

My handles are fold as well, I store It with a pillow inside and in the dustbag. I lay It flat and turn It every other day [emoji5] I have a mono nf

An excellent pillow stuffer for the NF PM is called the Pillow Pets Pee-Wee. They are all over online for less than $10. I found the moose works the best and matches the DE. I put it in the bag one night by accident and made this interesting little discovery.

I've had mine for about two years, still looks amazing. The straps have softened but the body is still a lot stiffer then my DE NF but much more comfortable to carry.

I store mine with tissue paper and in the dust bag but that's because it's the palm dot and I worry about chipping. When I had just a mono one I wasn't as strict about the dust bag.
