I've only had contemporary designer bags from Michael Kors and Coach, but very recently I've had this HUGE hankering to get this one bag of a TPFer that really caught my eye. It was gvamty's garnet Chloé Marcie hobo that did it.

But I've never spent so much on any fashion item before and I'm worried that this'll totally open the floodgates! I've got the a-ok from the hubs and Christmas bonus, but I'm thinking maybe I should gradually work my way up there...

TL;DR version: I'm scared of spending so much money on a bag when I've never spent nearly that much before! :oh:

I'm nervous about buying (actually about CARRYING) a premiere designer bag too! I have a collection of Coach too and I recently pre-ordered the RM TPF bag.

The Chloe Marcy was one of the first premiere designer bags I fell in love with, then Balenciaga, Celine Box & Luggage, Burberry bowling bags, LV Alma epi black, and now I'm obsessed with Mulberry Alexa - just waiting for a color that compliments my collection and is not woven (though I loved the Berry - didn't want the woven for the price of a premiere designer bag).

My point (or suggestion) is, wait until you feel good about the purchase before you buy. You may change your mind 20 times like me! I have decided that the RM bag will (hopefully) satisfy my cravings for Burberry, Balenciaga, LV Alma and Coach Legacy Haley. Still looking at the Mulberry Alexa for fun, though.

Have you seen the Chloe in person? They have it at Nordstrom, and I go visit it every so often.

To me the bag Gryson Ellie waiting in NY! In June I'll get them in the store, unfortunately the shipping is very expensive so it means to wait

I'm really hankering for a LV Multicolore Trouville in white. It's the perfect size and shape for me, and not too difficult to find. I adore little satchel-type bags.

Chloe Paraty in a some type of blue color

The Chloe Sally from s/s 2012 that is seafoam green on the bottom and turquoise patent leather on the top. I've been dying for that bag for over a year

A Chloe Ethel in lipstick or cyclamen

Chloe Elsie, there are a few models I have my eyes on.

The new Marc Jacobs "flipping dots" tote in nude

Miu Miu matelasse clutch in a rose pink, and another Miu Miu clutch in turquoise

... Maybe I should just stop now ...

Thanks for this suggestion, Jesssh! That's a really good idea, to see whether my mind will change 20 times before I spend all that moolah. I think I've always liked the Chloé brand, but my thought was always "I cant spend that much on a bag!". Times are changing.. I love the shape of a squishy hobo shoulder bag and Chloé's Marcie hobo pretty much sums up the ultimate bag for me. Perhaps in 6 months if I still think so, that's the ticket! I hope the RM TPF bag is all you hope it to be :)
I've never found it in person though.. not that I've looked all that much. I'm worried if I one day do, I won't be able to leave without it!

And you're totally right, buying is one thing, carrying it is completely another!

My wish list is to find a bag I can love and use everyday...and stop this buying, selling, buying, selling loop I keep getting stuck in. I just want one bag....not too much to ask....so why can't I find it?

I have gone through so many designer bags this past year.

Anyway, I actually saw a bag online that is not over the $500 I usually spend on a handbag. But, as per usual, I fall in love with a bag that is impossible to find.

I saw a video of the Tylie Malibu Exeter Brown Hobo Bag and just fell in love with it. I don't know anything about Tylie Malibu, but that's okay. I think this bag could be my everyday bag...I just have to find it now.;)

Okay, I changed my mind! I am waiting on my very first Givenchy Nightingale Satchel.....and I am sooooo excited!!!!!
