Hi ladies, dbf is going to buy me a christmas/birthday present and i'm trying to decide between these two rings. which would you choose? tiffany is about 30% more expensive here than in the US, so if i pick the aquamarine ring it'll probably have to be a significantly smaller stone than i originally wanted (e.g. a 1.4 centre stone is about 9k here as opposed to 6.5k on the website) as i am not comfortable with him spending so much.

i'm also contemplating a cartier love bangle with half diamonds, which amazingly is 1k+ cheaper than either of these!

any thoughts?

Go with the legacy!!! its absolutely stunning

search it on the forum as there is another member who owns this ring and has hand pics of it... and man is it gorgeous :love:

hokaplan -- yep, the aquamarine is the legacy!

yes, i believe clanalois has the legacy aquamarine and gorgeous hand pics! i've actually always wanted this ring but the size stone that i want (around 1.8) is so pricey for an aqua... i keep thinking i could get a decent sized diamond for it!

so i'm wondering if i should 1/ go down to a smaller size (only concern is that i'll be unhappy with it later..) 2/ contribute some money to the gift or 3/ promise that this is also my valentine's day and next birthday's gift! lol

love the other ring too though, it is so sparkly and sweet irl!

I must say that the aquamarine is one of my dream rings (in pink sapphire tho) and it will make a great statement ring.

while the other one might be overshadowed.. when u stack with others.


vote for the tiffany legacy! :D


and well if I were u perhaps tell the boyfriend to hold on to the gift and u guys fly to USA with the difference? :D and enjoy a nice vacation in beverly hills or nyc LOL

^ haha, good suggestion! however, i think he'll just see it as flying "all the way" to the US just to buy a ring. dbf is really bad at comparing prices, he just likes to walk into the store and buy what he wants. when i finally told him that the clothes he keeps buying (zegna) are way more expensive here than elsewhere and he should just buy on one of his frequent trips abroad, his reply was..... omg why did you have to tell me that?? now i can't shop in peace and really would have preferred not to know.... and then proceeded to continue to shop here.

so, actually he doesn't know about the extra tiffany markup here, it's just that i know and it makes me squirm inside!
