Hi Oliver,

This is the source - her name is Violette_fr and she actually wears a watch in a lot of her videos. I try slowing down the time and then try and spot the watch. I have watched a lot of her videos from her channel . This is her instagram also

I screenshotted another picture (below). Still has me puzzled! Haha!
Thanks so much in advance ;)

I see the crown now. If you want a gold Rolex, I would suggest you go to a retailer and ask to see the all gold models. You can also shop online and review first. Rolex is very common, you can find them in stores. The all gold versions are not that common due to price but your jeweler can bring it in for you to try. I think that is the best as what works on one person’s wrist may not work for you.

For example, I thought “big” was a size 36. But after trying on a Daytona, I wear a 40mm watch now.

I still am skeptical about her watch. Everything is off about it to me and I own a lot of Rolexes.... none are so thin. A Rolex is a thick watch, especially the all gold one. And Presidentials have a day calendar at the top which it may be there but hard to see. But again... I am no expert, only a consumer!

Good luck to you! If you do ping her and it is a real Rolex, I would love to know the model and year.

By the way, I want to add one more thing.... if you do not buy a new Rolex, and you go used... be careful of after market watches.

For example, anyone can make an all gold Rolex by switching gold bezels, bracelets, dials... however Rolex only makes certain models in certain combinations, so if staying true to Rolex matters to you, check with a retailer to see if that is a standard Rolex combination.

Hope this helps.

Looks like a very old vintage Rolex DateJust to me. 1970s or earlier model. Most likely a 34mm size. Back in the day men wore 34mm sized watches. Also in the pictures of her watch I can see what looks like an old Rolex bezel style which was known as the engine turned bezel. Rolex has made many watches with this type of bezel. I believe this is similar to her watch here and here: https://www.essential-watches.com/w...Gold-Bracelet-with-Champagne-Stick-dial/11851https://www.kalmarantiques.com.au/product/vintage-18ct-rolex-model-1007-from-1963/View attachment 4220550

Thanks guys this is all very informative and you are so great! I tried to ask her but no avail! I'm pretty convinced myself it's just a suuuuper old vintage Rolex even more so seeing her latest videos. Thank you for sharing some insight about being wary buying second hand or used market! :)

My bet is it’s an inspired Rolex and therefore the exact model is irrelevant. A Rolex that is all gold, oyster bracelet, smooth bezel, AND so thin seems suspicious to me and as I said... looking at the rest of the photo and bling, I doubt it is an all gold Rolex.

That’s said OP... it is modeled after a Rolex so if you like Rolex, just search on all gold Rolex watches, the Presidential model is the one that comes to mine as not all Rolexes come in all gold.
THANK YOU!!

Hi!

Thank you!

I think that by now, if you want to purchase a watch like this you know what to look for.

You're last link shows what I had in mind also, but it's missing the date - that Violette's watch definitely has.

From what I can make out in her pictures and videos, one moment I think "that's it" and in the next moment/different angle it looks totally off. I absolutely agree with @willeyi here!

Then again: pictures, videos + filters + angles + lenses ... Plus it really doesn't seem to be her focus at all, it's more like an every day worn item/accessory.

On the issue of authenticity of the watch shown, and I said I wouldn't judge by pictures. Going by her Bio, IG and YT I don't think she needs to mess with fake/look-a-like watches. I think the watch matches her style perfectly and it looks really intriguing - if she doesn't want to talk about it, that's a pity for us (by now I also want to know what it is exactly ;) ). But I guess in the end it's not so much about wanting for her, as it is about work load - That said, I really wouldn't want to have her inbox. So personally I'd say it's a Rolex - until proven otherwise.

Vintage watches is "a thing" and there are shops/boutiques selling them over the counter, not all of them now what they are selling - so for a buyer who is shopping for a "look" rather than for timely correct pieced together watch - it's easy to fall for a watch that might have never come out of Rolex HQ this way (like others pointed out before me), but it doesn't have to mean the parts aren't real.

If you want to go shopping for an authentic, timely correct, vintage Rolex gold watch, I'd strongly recommend getting help from the fine people at http://www.rolexforums.com and also from VRF (VintageRolexForums) https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/vintagerolexforum/ before spending a dime.

Kind regards,
Oliver
