I posted this on another thread once but I'll say it again!

Shortly after I got my Etoupe Birkin 35 in Togo, I was at my friend's very high end consignment store. It was a bit slow so, for fun, we started pulling out various outfits from the rack and pairing it with the bag. We couldn't find one single color it didn't go with! It went beautifully with the wildest, brightest prints of every color to the most conservative, solid neutrals - and everything in between. I was sooooo happy with my choice!:woohoo:

Etoupe is, IMHO, the most versatile neutral Hermes makes. I love it!!

Hi dear! I think Etoupe will suit your skin tone very well as it has a pinkish hue (then again pinkish hue skintones go with almost everything!)!! :p

I find that PINKS are excellent with Etoupe, whether it is fuschia or pastel pink.

Navy Blues, Olives, Browns and even Orange will go very well too.

Gotta rush out, but did a "Pink" pic for you!

Now, I was just considering this colour for a bag. I have heard that it is a great neutral but somehow I've not seen it on myself. I'm more of a gold person.

I am asian with pinkish skin tone. I wear a lot of bright tops, pinks, olive, orange tops with more neutral bottoms.

LS, I think étoupe is a better neutral than gold for our colouring. I've had this same conversation with ms piggy because I was saying that I don't find gold all that versatile (I had to add new pieces to my wardrobe when DH surprised me with my 30 B :p). We came to the conclusion that gold probably looks better on ladies with lighter hair.

hi lyanna, in the short period i've had my etoupe GP, i haven't felt that its clashed with ANYTHING in my wardrobe yet! i admit, i'm not always conscious of matching my outfits to my bags - i prefer to have neutral, go-with-anything type of arm candy, so i may not be the best person to answer your question. :p

anyway, to give you a better idea of the actual color of etoupe, i'm attaching a pic i took today. i think it showcases the color quite authentically!

Having said that, I would say it also depends on one's overall dressing. I think Gold still works for those with dark hair (esp if one has bright highlights). In fact, I can see Gold on you, LS. IMO, if you like and can take Orange, you can wear Gold as well.

Lyanna, I have an etoupe Paris-Bombay and I love how the color of the bag seems to change with the light and what it is next to. I wear a lot of neutrals and also jewel tones/brights and it looks great with everything. Honestly, I can't think of any color that etoupe would not go with. I guess if the bag looks good with your hair and skin coloring, it will be fine with your wardrobe. :)

Ahem. LyannaS, just in what bag style are you planning for this? :graucho:

Can't resist teasing you!!!!!

It's a very easy colour. You won't even need to think twice about what to wear with etoupe. I can't think of any colour that will clash with Etoupe!
