I would ask him where he got it, tell him how wonderful and thoughtful he is, but explain that it's a fake. Make sure you do this gently, as it can be shocking to those who don't know. See if he can get his money back, say if he purchased it from ebay. Poor thing was trying to be soooo nice.

I agree. I hope everything works out for you both, and that he's able to get his money back! Your poor DH, I think it's very sweet of him to try and get you a great gift

I would thank him for being so thoughtful but I'd also have to tell him it was a fake. I would want him to be able to get his money back and not support the business of fakes.

I think so.

If u dont tell him, he will assume that u r happy with the briefcase, and maybe he will keep on buying all of that cheap stuff thinking you love it, but you have to be very delicate, if i were married and my wife would ive me sth like that i would use this phrases:

-darling I´m thinking the briefcase its a little different from my LV bags... the dustbag is really different...

-baby I went with the briefcase to the LV boutique and everybody looked at me like I was carring a fake thing, are u sure is auth? where did u bought it?

U see? the surnames are just not to offend him... just kidding

Mostly as what they've said, my fiance knows about fakes(after my intense educating him ;p ) and he only would buy from the boutique because he's afraid of getting ripped off from buying online and he wants to be sure.

You really should tell your hub so that he knows and above all, emphasize how much you appreciate the gesture because I definitely would if my fiance did the same thing as your hub did. :)

Seriously, let him know that the bag is a fake and inform him on where he can purchase authentic LV items if he ever wants to get you a gift again. Also inform him that if he EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER purchases you another fake piece again, they'll be consequences and repurcussions!

maybe it can just meet with some unfortunate accident...

I think what I would do is after a few days, tell him that one of your co-workers told you it was a fake. That way you can both be shocked and give him the opportunity to make it all better.
