You are not stupid. You work hard for your money like the rest of us and you should feel free to ask questions before you let go of it. Unfortunately, as you have learned, you can't always trust a stranger's word concerning authenticity. I certainly don't mind when buyers ask me questions. I even had a buyer ask me about the color of the lining of a bag when I had no less than three pics of it the listing! No question is "stupid" as far as I am concerned. In the future, ask those sellers questions no matter what they say. If they want your money they will answer them.
Who cares if the seller calls you a thief! S/he's the outlaw in the first place!The seller also said that if I dont return the purse, I am basically a thief. I cannot get the seller's ID since listing had been removed.
