It was from last year's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They sometimes have special items made for it (sometimes with a lower quality). The other ukita I have is cowhide.

Ooh I see.. I'm sorry then. Never came across the ukita for nordstrom anniversary.

But to be in topic, I personally don't find the new collections having a decrease in quality. Especially for the lining, imo I like the new one better. Much easier to clean.

However, I'm judging only from the classicQ collection. Which - again in my honest opinion - are the only collection of MBMJ that I find appealing. Others are too seasonal with those pop of neon colors and wacky drawings..

I just purchased a second (first was a "heavy as a truck" Stam that I returned) Marc Jacobs bag at Bloomingdales yesterday. It is actually a "Marc By Marc Jacobs," which I understand is the lower-end line of bags. As someone who has owned Chanel, LV, Gucci, Chloe, YSL, etc., I have to say that I am damn impressed. The bag is a crossbody saddle bag ("Crossbody Revolution"), with a beautifully handcrafted thicker leather strap, the leather soft as lambskin in a gorgeous shade of what appears to be a mixture of olive green/tan, the hardware gold, and the interior a olive colored nylon with the Marc Jacobs insignia. Now in my opinion the interior only adds to the richness of the bag and had it been cotton, would have made an otherwise very expensive looking bag, downright cheap. Tory Burch bags have the ugliest and cheapest interiors that I have ever seen. In any event, while I certainly understand that of lately it seems that designers seem to be cutting back when it comes to certain materials, at the end of the day it is we as consumers who have the power to just say no. I was looking at a Cerf tote at Chanel and decided that at this stage in my life, I could do a whole lot more with my $3,000 than parade it around on my arm.

My Lil Riz didn't have the black and white monogram lining, it had a green and black cloth houndstooth print. After feeling the quality of the new bags in the store vs. Riz from 2008, I don't think I will look at buying MBMJ anymore. I loved the quality of the leather on Riz.

actually i have some bags with cotton interior... they get stained really easily... and when i try to remove the stain, it just blends out and becomes more obvious.... however the nylon lining in my opinion is very easy to clean... who cares about how does it look? as long as the leather is amazing and the designs are fabulous...

What color is MJ using for this purse lately?

I just bought a "vibrant red" patent Utika from a BM store (Nord Rack, Off Fifth, Last call, etc. one of them.) Anyone could help authenticating it? I looked up at the department store and Marc Jacobs websites and are worried because:

1. the colors are black or brown - never orange/vibrant red
2. never patent
3. lining is large logo print in black and white - the lining of the purse I got is small logo on grey background, exactly like the one at this link
