What on earth happened to the lining of MbMJ bags lately?

Don't get your hopes up about the lambskin. I have a Marc Y Marc Ukita in lambskin and it has worn much faster than any of my other MBMJ bags. Lambskin is just too delicate...or at least the lambskin on that bag is.

That's a shame! I have a Petal to the Metal Natasha in lambskin and it's absolutely divine. It still looks brand new after years but I do know what you mean about the lambskin. I bought (last year I think) the St. James Kitty Messenger bag and within days looked beat up so I sold it on ebay because it was too delicate and soft for me.

I got out my MBMJ Classic Q Percy because it's becoming my new weekend bag, and it does have the new lining. I didn't notice when I bought it online, and I really really do not like it. I won't be buying the Classic Q Natasha with this lining. It feels cheap.

I only have a few MbMJ bags but I have to say I prefer the nylon lining as well... my stuff slips into the pockets more easily (I know this sounds silly, but it's the truth! :p) compared to the cotton lining. Just wish they'd get rid of the lettered black and white lining; it's so loud!

Got a Classic Q Percy and Natasha with the new nylon lining and must say I prefer it more too! Wait until you spill something in the bag and you will know that it's a lot easier to clean it! I have another Totally Turnlock Natasha that has the cotton lining and I always have to handle it with special care. What chikapinku said about things slipping in more easily is so true too! :)

I love the signature MJ print that they have on their MbMJ bags, I hope they stick to that lining.

However, if the new nylon lining is anything like the one on my MJ Stam, then it should be stain resistant, I think. I had a sandwich mishap and was able to clean the stain out completely.

I have MBMJ bags in both cotton & nylon linings
At first I hated nylon lining to guts!! But as time goes by, I realised it's so easy to clean dirts, marks off the lining
You can't really do that to the cotton lining unless you "wash" it :-(
I also feel that recent Chinese made MBMJ bags aren't as good as the Indonesian ones...

I am not sure where my Berry Haze was made (can't check now) but even though I bought it several weeks ago and have posted pics and talked about it, I just started using it the other day. I bought it on eBay so there's really no recourse, but I am extremely disappointed at the workmanship.

There is one spot on the strap where there are loose threads, the glue around the strap edges is peeling in 3 places, and then on the medallions on the sides, the threads are really poorly done. Not to mention the leather or lining. If I had seen this bag in the store and could examine it, I would have asked for another one, no question. If I were MBMJ quality control, I would not have let that bag go out, or it would have been outlet i material. I fully realize I'm a perfectionist but come on - you don't charge $368 for the bag I got. It's ridiculous.

I couldn't agree more! I love the new lining in my PTTM Natasha, for all the reasons you mentioned!

I just noticed it yesterday, when I got my new baby aidan in creme. i was a bit ticked off by the new lining... but then again, I haven't bought any MbMJ bags for at least a year so I didn't really complain, and the Aidan has been on my wish list for years! the leather also bothered me a bit, I have a groovee and hillier from 2-3 years ago and it is so much more yummy than my new aidan

Ok so i got a natasha in nylon and then a natasha in preppy why is the lining in natasha preppy lining looks so ugly. Im more happy with the lining of my natasha in nylon. Its those pink with hearts on it and on the preppy its satin in blue. Urghhh just not happy with the lining in preppy.

I just got my first MBMJ bag. I have no problem with the nylon lining. But I do have a problem w the lining (whether the new fabric or the old cotton) being loose and the inside pockets being saggy....makes it hard to keep bag organized.

I have the new THTH hobo in black and the new lining is the stardust logo in black also which makes it very difficult to see things especially when my wallet & cosmetics case & glasses case are all black its like looking in a black hole that why I liked the old black & white lining very easy to see things I also noticed that the label on the inside of the lining says made in Indonesia which has its own questions marks when the label outside attached to the bag says its genuine Italian leather - gonna have to change my wallet & cosmetics case which in fairness need replacing but otherwise I mihgt go mental trying to find things in it!

I seriously wonder who likes the logo lining on the MBMJ bags? I thought it was widely disliked, and yet it is still being produced. I don't think MBMJ gives a stuff that some things are becoming a bit more cheap (lining material, buttons, switching from lambskin to cowhide with some bags) while the prices rise.

Update: And just as soon as I posted this message, I just saw on shopbop that some of the preppy leather bags and wallets are in lambskin. I hope the quality is there!

You a ukita in lambskin? Which season was that? Because as far as I know the ukitas (lil and original) are made of calfskin. Pebbled calfskin that is. It feels soft but it isn't lambskin. Lambskin will be much softer and flimsier
