great thread!!

i wore a gorgeous pearl necklace choker that my aunt gave me and it was the same one she wore on her wedding day as well (back in the 70s). it meant the world to me when she gave it to me and i still have it till this day.

the earrings i wore were beautiful pearl & faux diamond earrings that i purchased from neiman marcus.

and that's it. my wedding dress had long sleeves since we got married in november so i didn't wear any bracelets or a watch.

I wore stunning diamond drop earrings, my engagement ring, and my grandmother's HW sapphire ring (no picture, but it is a stunner).
At the last minute I added a single pave bangle from Nordstrom (see below) and it was only $60. Very glad I did. I kept it very simple, but very sparkly. I also skipped a necklace, which was a good call.

I wore a double-strand pearl necklace that was custom-made in India for me. A friend did it as a surprise for me when she went to India to visit her family. I made my own wedding gown, and intentionally made the neckline plain so I could wear this necklace (she bought it for me when I didn't even have a boyfriend, BTW!).

I wore 14k pearl drop earrings--a small, round, button pearl, with a smallish, pearl teardrop dangle. I asked for these as an Xmas gift from DH before our wedding the next year.

I also wore an antique bracelet of my Grandmother's. Grandmother died when I was 5, so I wanted to have something of hers. It's gold-filled, with 3 flowers that originally had amethyst centers. They fell out years ago, so I glued in freshwater pearls.

I also wore a tiara. I call it the Frankenstein Family Heirloom tiara, as it has so many parts cobbled together (like Frankenstein!). It started as a goldplated scrolly wire vine-with-leaves-flowers thing. It had plastic gold leaves and plastic pearl flower centers. I found 6 brooches with leaves on them, snipped apart, and cemented them in place of the plastic. I removed the fake pearls, and replaced them with real ones. I resisted the temptation to replace the faux diamonds with real ones!

I wore a headpiece and diamond stud earrings. I loved my tiara and didn't want it to sit in a box....so when I had my bouquet and his boutonniere preserved, my H made a shadow box and placed the headpiece, the bouquet and boutonniere, and one of our invitations inside. It's a great reminder of a wonderful day.

All this being said, the favorite item I had with me on my wedding day was a handkerchief from my grandmother who was too old to travel to our wedding.

my dress was very simple, so i went a little bold w jewelry. i wore a multi strand, different sized fresh water pearls/coin pearls/czech glass/swarovski crystal necklace i made myself, pearl studs and a multi strand pearl & crystal bracelet. then i changed for the reception and wore a short, embellished party dress and accessorized with big art deco earrings from saks and my wedding gift- a wg cartier love bracelet. :yahoo:

here is my necklace for the ceremony and my earrings for the reception.

This is my wedding jewellery. The bracelet is white gold and diamonds, everything else is platinum and diamonds.

My husband gave me the necklace earlier in our relationship. As I like to celebrate my successes with a little present to myself, I'd later bought the matching earrings to celebrate a pay rise, and the bangle was purchased with a bonus from my employer for passing professional exams.

My wedding ring and engagement ring are also attached. I also wore a white and blue crystal anklet as my 'something blue', but I don't have a photo (or know where it is now).

 Gorgeous!!!

i wore my blue topaz and diamond pendant(i think its about 10 carats) and matching earrings that was an engagement gift from my inlaws. I didn't want the traditional jewelry and since my dress was rather contemporary, it went with it pretty well

You made that necklace:nuts:
I love it!
You look beautiful!

i kept it really simple since we had our little courthouse ceremony, and the chandelier earrings i planned on wearing were misplaced.

so i wore diamond studs, necklace with a little ruby pendant (that was my 'something borrowed' from my mom but it was a gift my SO and i had given to her months before so i decided to borrow it back for that day), bracelet (the gold beads are carved and polished so they actually sparkle a lot), and of course e-ring and wedding band.

I am getting married in a few months and am dying to see what others have done. I have my headband put still trying to nail down my earrings. I will not be wearing a necklace as my dress has a 2 inch row of swarovski crystals under the bust.

Candypants- LOVE the bold necklace!

I do the same thing--I buy jewelry to reward myself for major accomplishments. As we didn't get a payraise last year, nor will we this year (due to the economy), I haven't done that for awhile! However, I've been working on enormous project at work, which I've been doing since August; I spend at leat 4 hours a day staring at a PC screen, and getting carpal tunnel syndrome from mousing. (I'm a library cataloguer, and am sifting through about 200,000 records to find old errors that I will later fix). I've already bought myself a couple of 14kt gold presents as I've reached certain milestones in that 200,000. At the conclusion of this particular set of records (70,000--I'm down to 8900 now!!!), I plan to buy myself a HUGE prize--an expensive ruby necklace from one of my Indian eBay sources I love so much. The prices are reasonable, and you can get a lot for your money. I figure I deserve it, especially as I'm probably going to go blind and have carpal tunnel! :D (A novel idea--being awarded jewelry for "pain and suffering". Hmmmm....)

At the end of the entire project, if I'm still employed (we're having layoffs for the first time ever), and I can save up for it, my jewelry box will be see some even more amazing baubles as a reward!
