Ok everyone! I did jump off Bag Ban Island but now I am officially on and will stay on. Im determined! All 3 happen to be Tory Burch. Im not sponsored lol (but wish I was! Lol) All 3 of these pieces were so unique and I knew I would regret it of I didn't purchase. Once they are gone, they are gone! Unique colors, print and textures so I went for it. The gold Lee Radziwill is a Christmas gift from my daughter. The other 2 were recently purchased by me in Jan. The Year of the Dragon Eleanor just arrived to my home today. Did anyone jump off the island as well, or am I the weakest link. Lol.
These are 3 gorgeous bags, enjoy them! I jumped off ban island and purchased a YSL mini lou, I couldn't pass up a good deal! Ban island isn't very fun anyway lol

Hahaha! Yes it surely is NOT fun! Lol. What seems to help (very little) is for me to switch my bags out often and tio switch up the look too (by using different bag straps, switch out bag charms or other accessories) Well good for you that you got a great deal.! Enjoy your new Lou which I'm sure you will! :) What color did you get? Post a pic! :) I'm just about 2 weeks sober. Lol. I have a LONG road ahead of me! Lol. Baby steps! :)

I agree, switching things up and dressing up our bags make them feel new and different, helps prevent buying more. But with every new season comes new styles, hard to resist! I purchased a classic black with gold hardware, I am still waiting to receive it =)

Oops i inadvertently posted in wrong thread so i am editing... but sounds like I have been surprisingly good by comparison... 3 weeks on first trip to ban island (feels like an eternity) and still there (though have dipped toe into the waters that are jewelry and RTW).

I'm trying to avoid buying new by making effort to use a variety of bags including bags I never or rarely use so it kind of feels like getting a new bag. I've got a long way to go though to see if I can make it the entire year. It seems like an impossibility but I have allowed myself a couple of "hall passes" if specific bags become available.

Anyone else have any tips for avoiding new purchases?

Yay! I know it's beautiful! Congratulations! :) Yes the styles keep revolving. If I can learn to hold onto my bags long enough I won't NEED (yeah right lol) to buy again, just like the new LV Denim that is out now. It's like a flashback into a time capsule pretty much! Lol

My first vintage bag - this beautiful Gucci!

If anyone knows more about this collection please share because I can’t seem to find any information about it online and I don’t know the year it’s from either. (Hoping it’s not fake)

I’m usually into minimalist colours and have never been drawn to designer prints but the pop of colour and heart logo!!! Too cute! View attachment 5927327
It's beautiful. :)

I am so lousy at this. I tried if this was the year my no-buy would come true.
Took me 20 days to fall off the wagon! 😂

Went to Stockholm for a day to get a little reset and came home with a Uniqlo dumpling bag in white corduroy (I blame influencers but this bag is amazing!), LC LP pouch in Ebony (it's sold out everywhere but I walked into NK just as they had received a batch) and also LOOK AT THAT COFFEE CUP! It's white and rose gold and it's the prettiest cup I've ever had! 😍

Now, for the rest of the year, I will be trying to focus on spending my money on experiences, and my time on DIY projects that have been waiting for too long.
I'm just here to tell ya...you are NOT alone (in regards in jumping off the wagon on spending). Hahaha! I did too and it's only 23 days into 2024, but I'm back on again, with my head up high. Hahaha!

Hahaha! Hall passes! Lol. Love that! I guess I already used up my hall passes with my 3 Tory Burch bags. Lol

For me, to avoid new bag purchases I may purchase a new bag charm, twilly (bandeau) or a cool slg or strap. It still adds up, depending on the brand but not up to a price of a new high end bag! Lol. Any other tips out there that can help the ones in need? Lol
