I regret not getting something from the storybook line. The detail of the embroidery was fantastic. I couldn't find a style I really could use.

From Vestaire Collective I scored a Versace Vanitas baroque medea medium shoulder bag in black. I already have the brown in large size for comparison (and my brown is near brand new still). I somehow managed to find this bag listed for just over 300 USD and listed as "good" condition but I couldnt see any obvious damage innthe pics so I took a chance. (This bag lists at average 1200-1800 USD preloved). I expected damage but was amazed! The leather is in near perfect condition except for very minor wear where the shoulder strap connects and I already fixed it with leather repair polish. The hardware has a very few tiny scuffs which I mostly buffed out with toothpaste... yes plain old toothpaste! The inside is also pristine except for where the magnetic clasp clicks together and I dont really care about that since it is not visible. Here she is by her larger brown sister still with vestaire collective tag attached.

Smaller and lighter. BV had a leather lining too and that added to weight when empty ( not like older Cabas just one layer of woven leather…… Bal is camel leather, really light, has a zipper, smaller capacity and sleeker look, zipper and magnets on the top..better for travel to roll it on carry-on suitcase than a huge leather basket.

I just realized my brown bag looks a little odd shaped but its because its currently empty and they are very smooshy bags. Not really structured. The black one was full because I had stuffed it while I was applying leather conditioner and cleaning the hardware. The brown looks the same when full.
Shoulder bags are back in style so these will serve me well this summer! But I also have the black WOC in this style as well if I need crossbody.

One of my favorite things about tPF is the random information I pick up in various threads. Thank you so much for the toothpaste tip! I recently purchased a preloved Louis Vuitton bag charm that was on my list, but has been long been discontinued. Great condition and great price in exactly the color I wanted. There were two small scratches/smudges on the hardware I didn’t love, but I wasn’t returning. Toothpaste and a buff with a jewelry cloth lessened the look of both significantly. So thank you for the tip!
