Allison -- I'm older -- I think you can wear Vince at any age ;) Lauren Hutton would make a great Vince model and god knows she's older than you or I
This from a google-fest:
"Ms. Laccone said the company was created with the concept of luxury basics that were casual and made of high-end fabrics, but not prohibitively expensive. The customer she had in mind was herself, "a woman who travels a lot and carries an Hermes bag." -New York Times
I'd say it's tPF kind of clothes !!

Oh, so NOW I need to get an Hermes bag!

Do you guys think it is worth the money for someone who has a fairly small clothing budget? I am headed to medical school this fall so I'm trying to curb my clothing spending while still looking good and professional. I'm thinking about some basic turtlenecks ($95) and maybe one chunky cardigan. Pants are too iffy for me to buy online, since I am petite'ish (2-4). I don't mind spending money on clothes but I want what I do buy, to hold up well.

Honestly, I don't. If I were on a budget, I wouldn't. Sometimes you can get gently used stuff on Fleabay. I know if I buy something and after a season or two, I don't wear it, I will put it on there. But it usually means I haven't worn it but once or twice.

I am in dental school and LOADS of loans. Hence, I can't afford this either....Forever21 for me :p

Side note: I found out that the younger daughter of the owners of F21 who is taking over part of the company went to my undergrad and I had met her before too.

Personally I mix and match Vince with other "cheaper" brands. If you find a garment you love from Vince go for it, but I wouldn't suggest to buy all your clothes from 1 source.

Haha, no, I wouldn't get all my stuff from one spot... I am just gun-shy now over some of the mid-range brands when I hear about things like pilling. I had a bad pilling experience with some (not cheap!) J.Crew stuff this past winter so now I am trying to be a bit more cautious :) If I am only able to wear something for one season, I'd rather get it cheaply and go big on other things... like a burberry winter coat... haha!

Thanks for the advice, ladies!

i'm a huge fan of vince, but i wouldn't break the bank for it. if you can't afford it, or need to stretch out your budget to get a few pieces, don't do it. its more important to have ALL the staples as apposed to 2 that are particularly soft. :)

I've scored a few really great Vince tank tops at second hand shops for around $25. They're fantastic layering pieces and built to last. I have one that's close to five years old that I wear almost three times a month and it's in near perfect condition!

Anyone ever have any experience with Vince jeans? They seem really well made, but they're definitely pricey. There isn't anywhere in my state that sells them, or else I'd go try them on.

I love Vince...

I bought most (If not all) of my "basics" & "sweaters / cardigans" from them!! Oh yes... the leather jacket!! They are one of my favorite brand!!!

Ooh, I love Vince. The sweaters are TDF. I always buy them on sale, though. My sister found some recently at TJ Maxx and gave me one for Christmas (yay!). They do pill, but I use one of those sweater shavers and they look as good as new.

can anyone comment on the sizing of their pants? I have a bunch of their tops and sweaters which all run large, do their pants also run large or since the sizes are more specific is it safer to go with my "true" size?
