For me, it's just that I have a lot of bags and honestly don't need more. I really like my collection, I didn't buy them to be trendy so if five or ten years from now I'm the only one carrying that style, I'm fine with it. I did go through a big bag buying phase and when I see the prices of bags I bought years ago, I'm amazed. My Prada has gone up $500. and most of the Chloe's have gone up too. I love the Heloise style and almost wish I'd gotten one more color. The Stam still looks great to me, I just am less likely to carry the chain. And the bags I have seem better quality than what I see in the stores. It's still fun to look at TPF, but I'm more inclined to shop my closet than the store. And I still love shoes.

I agree quality seems to have gone down a lot in the recent years. I love the leather of my first year stams, as well as my chloe paddington. The leather is thicker. The resale value is so bad now for those bags, if I can only get $100-150 for the chloe I might as well keep it. The gold hardware on all of those bags chipped, and it was a common issue for some: doesn't help if I ever decide to sell. Id like a philip lim pashli but I can't imagine paying retail for them-the leather looks a bit too thin for me. The alexander wang bags look like they're made of good material. It seems that Proenza Schouler is a hit with the ladies here. I probably would be less conscious of bags if it weren't for this forum ;p

I live just outside of Atlanta and let me tell you- MK is the new Coach. I realized this a few months ago when I was at a child's birthday party and practically every mother there had an MK. I am so turned off by his blatant ripoffs of Chanel and LV that I would never own one of his bags. I've never been the girl to buy the "IT" bag. I buy 1.what I like and 2.quality. Fortunately, I started my collection years ago when luxury was a bit less expensive and better made! Like all things though, I believe we will come full circle. Innovation and quality will eventually make comeback.
